Battle Dress (1.1v) - File Description  


Description:
The Battle Dress Plugin adds one light, and one heavy Braided set of armor to the Best Defense, and matching weapons of all varieties to A Fighting Chance. The light armor and the weapons are of quality equal to Elven, while the heavy armor set is of quality equal to ebony, though with some changes in weight and durability. Also adds a Horse Armor retexture that replaces the Steel Horse armor. Requires the Official Horse Armor Plugin to work. Really good mod, and textures, definetly worth a look.

What does this add?
===================
The Battle Dress Plugin adds one light, and one heavy Braided set of armor to the Best Defense, and matching weapons of all varieties to A Fighting Chance, both in the Market District of the Imperial City (Though these items have also been spotted in other shops throughout Cyrodiil). The light armor and the weapons are of quality equal to Elven, while the heavy armor set is of quality equal to ebony, though with some changes in weight and durability.
Also adds a Horse Armor retexture that replaces the Steel Horse armor. Requires the Official Horse Armor Plugin to work.

How to Install
==============
Extract the entire contents of the .7z/.rar file into your Oblivion\Data\ folder, and everything should work. Don't forget to enable the .esp from the Data Files menu in your Oblivion launcher.
You can open .7z files in recent versions of WINRAR!
To install the horse armor, follow the above steps, then if you have an ArchiveInvalidation.txt already in your main Oblivion folder, add the following lines to it:

textures/creatures/horse/armorsteel.dds
textures/creatures/horse/armorsteel_n.dds

If you do not already have an ArchiveInvalidation.txt file, copy the one provided in this archive to your main Oblivion folder. If you already unzipped the contents of the archive into your Oblivion\Data\ folder, you will find your ArchiveInvalidation.txt there.

IMPORTANT:
==========
If you were running a version of Battledress prior to 0.8, you should delete the contents of all the "Braided" folders under both Oblivion\Data\textures and Oblivion\Data\meshes prior to installing 0.8 or later versions. This is to remove the previous meshes and textures that were causing some weapons to display as purple.

Plans for Future Updates
========================
Add a special merchant who sells the Braided armor and weaponry to avoid conflicts with other mods that utilize The Best Defense and A Fighting Chance vendor chests.

-Fixed the purple Dai-Katana
-Fixed the clipping female ankles and covered the skin showing at the back.
-Fixed the transparency on Heavy Braided Icons.
-Added 500 Arrows rather than the previous 50.
Version 1.0: 23 May 2006
-Added a Braided Dai-Katana.
-Fixed the missing ankles on Heavy Braided Greaves.
-Made unique vendor chests and cleaned out the old ones and references to avoid conflicts.
Version 0.8: 27 April 2006
-Added a Braided Warhammer, Mace, Waraxe, Battleaxe, Katana and Bow.
-Fixed the normal maps for all weapons, as they were too bright in 0.7.
-Removed a few "junk meshes" that were cluttering up the mod.
Version 0.7: 25 April 2006
-Selective test version.
-Added and textured male and female heavy armor sets using composite meshes.
-Added a horse armor texture as a replacement for steel.
-Changed the texture, mesh and icon names for all items in an attempt to remedy various "purple weapons."
-Tweaked the normal maps of all Braided weapons to reflect more light without HDR.
Version 0.6: 20 April 2006
-Added a helm as an alternative to the hood for both genders.
-Added a retextured two-handed sword.
-Fixed Male normal map to tone down "Metal Fur" effect.
Version 0.5: 18 April 2006
-Made a new composite mesh for the Male texture, and retextured Pauldrons to match.
-Added a shield and two new blades.
Version 0.4: 17 April 2006
-Changed the filename to accomodate future updates.
-Male texture added.
Version 0.3: 16 April 2006
-Fixed the texture path issue.
Version 0.2: 16 April 2006
-Initial Release.


Known Bugs & Compatibility Issues
=================================
If you ran Battledress v0.3 and bought the outfit, you will now have to repurchase it with this version.
This is due to a change of the mod's filename, and should prevent something like this from happening again with future versions. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
