lol det9494! I'm are in Europe to! and I post quite a lot...
TheWitchKing know that Jauffre attack you in the Bruma Quest (It a bug, I know) but you can prevent him to attack you by holding block and activate that character, you can Allso launch healing spells at your allies there (Those can be found in Chapels) Barus doesein't actualy have to die you just quickly kill the Mythic dawn people and he will survive to the 'END' of the game.

And by the way Shadow__ the main quest can be either hard & Easy but remember that it depends on difficult setting & Players skill..
I Clearly remember when i set the Diffiicult seting to Max Hard.. and I was killed by 2 rats. but you can survive with greater strategy & Skill.

And btw thanx for adding more Archers on the wall (I was very tired att the 1 left alone upp there, It was to easy to kill Him with the Flare Spell)

The first time I went into bruma battle, I thought I was all ready for anything. High stats, armor, level. _I_ was fine, but all the monsters were leveled against me, and all the armies and companies (including Martin) were slaughtered in minutes. GeeZ!! That's not alot of fun.

Next time -- (I went around and did daedric, thieves and night-mother / dark sisterhood (:-)) quest, and had even better stats and weapons -- but this time I consoled my level down to 23-24.

In both battles, I went in and had "recruited" all the cities possible -- Jaufry thought I was a diplomat as well as "very prepared"...yet
difference was I was "too high" in level and my companions got slaughtered in record time.

Another area where high level (even with matching stats) hurts you -- is you pay heavy penalty if you are a mage (arch-mage in particular). So where are the spells to call down fire out of the sky? Oh...*those* spell, well they cost 100-600% more magica than your "max". While all the monstors have health and fatigue up near 1000, none of your spells are any "larger" to compensate. Might as well be using a fly swatter.

The *only* way to deal with those characters (which, once you learn the trick is good for lower level as well as higher level characters) is the multiplicative weakness to magic and fire -- then a "flare" spell can get magnified -- or just step in with "goldbrand" which does 22 points fire damage. But in group settings -- I *Need* a spell that tells the good guys from the bad guys. Area effect spells, besides easily taking 20-40% of my magica, also nuke my side -- again making them useless. So I'm left with dealing with 1 enemy at a time via a 1-2 weakening spell sequence -- and even that's fraught with randomly moving "allies" running to interpose themselves in front of the monster just as your fireball (that was launched 1-2 seconds ago) finally gets there. Energy based spells, fire, but especially lightening should be *fast* -- lightning travels 30-50% the speed of light. A heat-ray (ala laser/phaser) travels at speed of light or faster.

Anyway -- making Bruma "harder" isn't really great -- just move the difficulty "slider" to the right. It does need to have your allies be more balanced to your level -- so they can have a chance against the enemies.
