*TES Combat Modification Release by Sami Boustani*

What is TES Combat modification?
This mod changes the gameplay of melee combat, allowing you select a target
and center your movement around it (like in most 3d combat games). You can
now focus entirely on the fighting moves instead of striggling to align your
cursor on the enemy.

How to install?
-Copy CombatMod.esm in your Oblivion/Data directory,
-In the Oblivion launcher select "Data Files"
-Activate CombatMod.
-Launch the game.

How to use?
Once the mod is installed, go to the Arena bloodworks (the left door of the coliseum).
Take the small golden ring on the cupboard next to Owyn.

Bind it to one of the shortcut keys.
Hit the shortcut key to activate/deactivate targetting mode.
Note : The ring doesn't use a ring slot so you can still equip your favorite two magic rings.

When you activate targetting, the ring will look for the nearby target that is the most in front of you.
Your movement will now be centered on this npc.
Press Forward to run on the enemy, back to move away.
Left/right to circle around him from the left/right.
Deactivate by hitting the shortcut key.

Binding the targetting to the spacebar:
-launch the game,
-in the control options bind the Action key (or whichever key you bound to Spacebar) to another key
-place the ring in your quickslot #8
-save and quit
-go to My Documents/My Games/Oblivion
-open the Oblivion.ini file
-locate this line Quick8=0009FFFF and replace it by Quick8=0039FFFF
-save oblivion.ini and launch the game

Similarly You can bind any quickslot item to any key you wish, you just have to locate the
code of the key in the oblivion.ini file.

Known Issues
Sometimes you're right behind an NPC and there is nothing between you and him but the game decides you
dont have a line of sight to it...... this is quite rare though.

Wow, there are litteraly people who can't move their mouse fast enough to stay on target with a slow moving NPC?
You actually need help in a 1-1 or 2-1 fight?

Ok, props to whoever coded this, it sounds like a lot of work to make, but honestly, if you need this mod to stand a fighting chance in the game, Go play Minesweeper or something, Oblivion is honestly not for you.

This sounds like a nice piece of work, but I'm going to have to go with #2 on this. Not to mention it gets rid of the need to even aim for an archer class, and is pointless for an melee class. Why not just make a mod to play the game for you?

this could be interesting in sword fights but with magic users and archers those two are already superpowerd lets not take away their only disadvantage the ability to miss (although i have to admit that itd be fun to completly own someone like that with my mage teehee no missing no running away u dirty B@5****)

Um...actually, I despise games that let you do that. stick out tongue Well, only if they're on the computer. If they're on a console, I'll accept it. I absolutely CANNOT manipulate a controller.

This sounds amazing.

Finally, I'll be able to focus on power attacks, blocking, and spells, rather than keeping my opponent in my sights.

i think this is a good mod and i totally disagree with #2 when you have a bunch of allys with you and your fighting a limmited number of enemys your allys tend to get it the way so this helps in that case, and it doesent superpower anyone this isnt a pvp game its pve so its not like your fighting an archer that never misses, if you dont like the mod click back dont waste your time on a mod your just going to get flammed about.

thing is, this is greaaat for third person view...for me third person is the coolest way to fight, but maybe not the most efficient way...so this really make 3rd p fightin more enjoyable.

DLing now.

yeah #2. Just because ppl choose to use this mod doesn't mean that they are fighting impaired in any way. It's more of a convenience that should've been in the game anyway.

If you fight with any companions, you find them constantly jumping in front of you while you're in mid sword swing, then they get all *****ed off because you hit them.
Hopefully this mod might help with that particular annoyance.

kudos to the modder that made this but i agree with #2 also
i might download it anyway cause sometimes i save, go on hacking sprees, then reload the save. this could also make the game a lot more cinimatic for screenshots and the whatnot
