HTFpcb - File Description

This mod has come into existance because as many people have noticed the amount of texture memory Oblivion uses increases as you play the game (if you do not fast travel).

What this mod does is purge the cell buffers every 3 seconds removing old textures from memory. This should increase performance on some peoples machines (low ram/graphics ram def). It also means if you use mods that increase the memory usage e.g texture packs or LOD packs the increases memory usage will be less aparent.

You will still see the memory usage going up but it should also slowely come back down or stay at a certain level instead of constantly increasing. You wont see an effect if you stand in one place it will only do something if you are moving

the only thing that i don't like about it is that it cuts out the dialgue when you wake pass some one but not when you talk to them. Ues it when your out side but not when inside so you can talk to each other.

There are also other ways to increase the performance of comp's which isn't that great. Just press the console-button(usualy under Esc), then type
TG(removes the grass,Most effective)
TS(switches off the sky and light, kind'a like nightwision)
TT(No trees)
TLL(eliminates the distant land)(can also be done in the options/video-menu by switching on and off "show distant land"

These commands is wery useful for low preformance comp's, hope you all enjoy them wink

This mod actually works very well for me. My system has an nVidia GeForce 7600GS for a video card (actually fairly high performance) but 512 MB for RAM. The RAM is what really slows me down the most--when it isn't struggling, I normally get 20-30 FPS outside, 60-80 FPS inside. This mod takes a big load off of my poor little RAM and allows the game to run with half as many long interruptions as before.

As all performance-enhancing mods for Oblivion, though, this file has its drawbacks. Almost everytime an NPC has a conversation with another NPC (or an NPC has a close-up conversation with you) their dialogue cuts out after one second of talking. Other than that, I haven't noticed any other adverse effects, except for a slight flickering in the eye reflections that may just be due to the original game anyway. Great lag-lessener.

I am running a very fast computer ( 6 GH processor, Geforce 8800) , but have played oblivion so long that i need more mods. I decided to download more and more mods until I either fill 150 GB or hit the 200 mod mark. I know from experience that this mod will help a lot
