Kevin's Socketed Weapons & Armor Beta (Beta) - File Description  


Description:
This Mod adds socketed swords & shields to the game. You can add jewels to the equipment for different effects. If you equip a socketed item a menu will appear asking if you want to add a jewel. You have to have a socketed jewel in your inventory to add it to the item. There are 3 diffrent classes of socketed equipment: Common, Fine & Exquisite. The higher the class, the better the effect from the jewel. There are 8 different jewels: Amethyst, Diamond, Emerald, Opal, Pearl, Ruby, Sapphire & Topaz. Each Jewel has a different effect on the equipment. Once you add a jewel to an item, you cannot remove it. You can buy a common socketed sword & shield at The Fighting Chance in IC. You can also buy some of the jewels at Red Diamond Jewelry in IC. The higherlevel equipment & the other types of jewels can only be found in dungeons.

I designed this mod to avoid conflicts with other mods. All the items are unique & should not cause any problems with other mods. I created & tested this mod while using OOO1.3, but it should work with almost anything.

This beta is a proof of concept. It is not completed yet. Balancing the item levels, prices , enchantment costs & placement still need to be tweaked. I also hope to add socketed amulets & rings to the mod. I hope you have fun testing it out.
