Melee Weapons (BETA) - File Description  

Models are made by me and coding by diablerie

This mod aims to make hand to hand combat a more viable and fun alternative to the Blades and Blunt skills, you will now be able to find/buy weapons that enhance your hand to hand damage and give you special critical strike abilities.

Here is a list of what this mod does:

- add about 10 enchanted gauntlets to the game that also deal bonus elemental damage on strike
- add a total of about 12 sets of hand to hand weapons like claws, katars, punchblades, knuckles, folding katars, glass katars, daedric claws and more
- set item bonuses for hand to hand weapons, each weapon will come in either right handed or left handed version, if you get the whole set , you get a chance for a special critical strike ability based on your H2H skill (chance is 1/10th of your h2h skill)
- a distinct critical strike ability for each set of hand to hand weapons , ranging from basic extra damage strikes, to srikes that silence, destroy the enemies armor, or even paralyze
- a unique set for each major guild (figthers, thieves mages and dark brotherhood)
- makes hand to hand combat on par with even the strongest blades and axes
- integrate the new content into the game by adding quests, bosses and hidden vendors for the more powerful claws

Notes about the mod:
-The hand to hand weapons (except the gautlets) use the ring slots, so you can either have 2 rings, 1 ring and 1 claw or 2 claws equipped at any one time, this may seem to cripple your character, but once you see how you tear through enemies with the new hand to hand weapons you will forget all about rings
-The hand to hand weapons will only be compatible with some of the lighter gauntlets in the game (no heavy gauntlets at all)

Nice stuff here now I can knock some skulls in but alas what is the whereabouts to these weapons. Would be nice to know embarrasment

I have no idea, due to a recent reformat I haven't got Oblivion installed. I'll have a look tomorrow for you and report back if nobody has.

EDIT: After some research on the forum I have seen that these may be found at the Fighting Chance in the Imperial City

I think there is a misunderstanding, the mod is just in the beta stage to test the coding so right now there are only the claws and knuckles available.
Diablerie hid the claws and knuckles on various merchants so you will have to do a little easter egg hunting, the first knuckle is in the kvatch refugee camp sold by a merchant

Okay everyone I found the claws in the fighting chance but I made a new charactar and was at level 3. The gloves can be found at the best defense light armor dude. Theres only two gloves but dont expect to put both the gloves and the claws together it just doesnt work that way.

Btw to the creator the claws are nice but if you change view to 3rd person it looks kind of funky.

Um, can I point out one really obvious thing? Lol, umm if this is a beta test, isnt it kind of stupid to hide the things we're meant to be testing? Just a thought. Next edition of the "beta" test, tell us where they are so we can give feedback?

well they are apparel but they do damage via scripted effects, they also have critical strike chance if you have a whole set

ive put the files in the data folder ive even pit them in the oblvian floder but when i get to the data files thing in the start up the files id like to use arent there wat am i doing wrong

Probably not reading the readme for a start lol.
Just make sure everything is in there. I.e Dont put the Zip folder in there (which you may have done). Put the contents of the zip folder into the Data folder. Then start it from the data thing

Great mod!
The Akaviri claws look awesome.
To people above discussing the whereabout of other weapons:
I've had a search around, and found 2 metal knuckles, 2 gauntlets (iirc), and 4 of the wolverine style claws, 2 of which being weaker, and the other 2 doing more damage and getting some nice stat buffs.

had a quick pop in the CS, and Cryo has put in other weapons and claws, but haven't been put into the game yet, cant wait for them though. update please!

It makes sense that these melee weapons wont be compatible with your heavy gauntlets because heavier armor would slow down your speed a lot. I would rather fight with lighter armor or just with a sword than not be able to move fast enough to fight.

I quite agree with you on that, RaptorTank. Most all of my characters wear light armor, though I had a heavy-armored knight for a while. Didn't play that character much, though.

In any case, I love these weapons. I may even go so far as to make a hand-to-hand specializing character now that I have more stuff to upgrade and such. xP Just having to hit things over and over to get better eventually gets boring, especially since hand-to-hand doesn't do much damage. I love these. Thanks alot for putting them up! ^^;''

i got the mod and put it in and turned it on but when i go to put them on they make my hands invisible and when i go to 3rd person i have a giant yellow square with a gray ! in the center how do i get rid of this problem and see the weapon without being a giant retard with a ! as big as me?

cool mod by the way i like beating people to a pulp.

I really like this idea, but some people do like their ring slots smile Even so, very cool indeed. If you can get them to go into shield/weapon slots and still be hand to hand, it'd be better, but 9/10 nonetheless

I keep getting these weird effects whenever I raise my fists. Getting hit by a constant lightning effect, so there's a big blue light obscuring everything around me.

If you've put on a script that gives an effect or something when the weapons are first equipped, that should probably be removed. It's very inconvenient.

very nice and i have one idea for you if you add some more hand to hand wepons, you should put them in a chest with a thinking quest in order to get the chest that is hidden some where around cyrdill

I'd love it if you made Altar's concealed, retractable Katar from Assassin's Creed.


Ever since I downloaded this mod, along with another, the game will occasionally go to either a black or brown screen when I move to certain areas or go into a building...

I tried disabling each one individually and on both occasions it still happened.

(I'm going to post this on the other mod page, as well)
