Oblivion Itemizer (2.11) - File Description

NOTE: This file has become outdated and there's a newer / better version available.
You can still get this file but we suggest you have a look at the NEW / UPDATED VERSION first!

Oblivion Itemizer is an application that has over 5400 items stored in databases that are unique to the game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and one of its expansion packs - Shivering Isles. Every single item contains stats such as weight, value, size, etc. The purpose of this application is so the user can select any item in the databases and add that item to a list. The list is then written to a batch file using Oblivion Itemizer which can be imported into Oblivion.

This is an especially helpful application for situations where you are having a hard time finding certain items in Oblivion and would like to have them right away without having to search for them in the game.

First and foremost, I would like to say that I spent almost 5 months initially
developing this program and it has undergone serious testing throughout
those months of development. Therefore, I ask that anyone using
Oblivion Itemizer would respect the fact that I worked very hard to
create this program and to not redistribute it, alter it, modify it, or use its coding in any way without my strict written consent. This is mainly because I would like to take credit for Oblivion Itemizer as the creator, developer and designer. Though this type of program is not my original idea and there are some programs out there like it, the fact that I designed it should be enough for anyone using Oblivion Itemizer to abide by these "rules."

Oblivion Itemizer is not a bug-free program. However, I have been
striving to work all of the bugs out in a timely manner, so please
be patient as I plan to get new releases out on the web as soon as

INSTALLATION: All the files that are required to run Oblivion Itemizer are already included in the folder. Simply click on Oblivion Itemizer and enjoy!

The main thing that you should know is how to actually write the batch
file from the list of items you have selected. The rest is pretty much
self-explanitory. However, if you do have any questions, please feel free
to contact me via my email address listed at the top of this users guide.

Step 1) After you are satisfied with the list of items you have chosen
click the "Create Batch File" button. This will bring up a
dialog box so you can choose where to write the actual batch file.
I usually write it directly to C:<batch file name> or some place
where it will be easy to access from Oblivion.

Step 2) Click the "Write Batch File" button to write the batch file to
to the specified location. The batch file is written to a .txt
file extension.

Step 3) Start or load a game in Oblivion and press the ~ (tilde) key to bring
up the in-game console.
Type (without the quotes) "bat <location and filename of batch file>.txt"

Be sure to include the file extension and have it as ".txt" otherwise
it will not work. After you do this, press "Enter" on your keyboard
and you will see that the items will start to be added to your inventory.

Step 4) Have fun!!!

Just as a side note, each database in Oblivion Itemizer is searchable.
When you search for an item in the desired database, the item(s) matching
the search criteria will automatically be highlighted. You have to be on
the tab that contains the database you want to search in.

I hope you enjoy my hard work!

First and foremost- YOU USE Oblivion Itemizer AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I cannot and will not be held responsible for any damage done, in whole or in part, to any of your saved games.

Oblivion Itemizer has been tested and retested several times to ensure that using the batch files created with Oblivion Itemizer are safe for use with your in-game progress saves. There has never been an issue reported that indicates any kind of damage done. However, this does not mean that it is impossible for a batch file to inflict damage to your in-game progress saves.

Oh I have one question.
II made a list of items and I wanted to create the batch file. So I looked up an location and wanted to save it there, but it didn't do anything when I pressed save. So is my computer being weird or did I do something wrong?

Hey SweetPunishment-

Trust me, you're not the only one that forgets to name the file. How bad is it when the creator of the program forgets to name the file, huh? And believe me, I STILL forget to do that sometimes. cool It's so simple.... it's difficult, if you catch my drift big grin

If this has bugs, wouldn't it just be easier to type in the console what you want, >player.additem xxxxxxxx<. What does this thing do? Give you like 50 different items at once?

Hey satry-

Sorry about the confusion. Actually, what Oblivion Itemizer does is exactly that - gives you 15 items at once PER batch file created with Oblivion Itemizer. So instead of having to type >player.additem xxxxxxxx< like a hundred times, you only have to type

bat "batchfilepath".txt ---- this is the batch file you created with Oblivion Itemizer. Each batch file can hold up to 15 items.

I apologize for the lack of description at the top of this page. All of my other version submissions were deleted but for a good reason. It was getting really confusing and they were all outdated.

Guess WHAT!!!??? I made a new discovery for Oblivion Itemizer that I was not aware of until earlier today! Remember how in my user's guide and help tab in Oblivion Itemizer I kept telling you that you have to use an easy to get to location to save the batch file in? Well forget all that! Simply save the batch files to the directory where you have Oblivion installed (it's the same directory containing "Oblivion.exe" and the "Data" folder. This way you ONLY have to type in as follows to import the batch files into Oblivion via the console:

bat batchfilename.txt

This is awesome because Oblivion looks in its installed location anyways. I just recently figured that out! Roll Eyes (sarcastic)

This means no more hard drive letters and path crap. The newest version of Oblivion Itemizer (v1.12) has an almost completely re-written user's guide and the help tab in Oblivion Itemizer is updated with the new information. Unfortunately, I am hesitant to upload version 1.12 just yet because I feel that I would make the site admins "not so happy." See, I have had sooo many releases in such a short amount of time that I don't want them to devote so much attention to my files.

If you guys (admins) feel otherwise, please let me know by either emailing me or posting a comment saying so on here. It would be greatly appreciated!
