Undernethe- Saurians (1.0) - File Description

Description:
ABOUT: The Undernethe is a wide-scale mod project which adds a world far beneath Tamriel. The world is a beautifully cultured and dark place, inhabited by strange monsters and tyrannical governments.

Currently, our team has shrunk to two dedicated people, so we need volunteers like you to help us out. Writers, artists, modders, modellers, texturers, scripters and... just about anyone with good ideas. Visit our forums at http://underdarkproject.easyphpbb.com/index.php

The Saurians will have an entire city and several quests dedicated to them in the Undernethe, and will be fully playable with the release. Their city will be hidden at first, so the player either has to find them him/herself, or follow a quest to lead them there.

DESCRIPTION: The Saurian tale is one of sorrow, betrayal and terror.

It begins in Argonia, where the Saurians were a powerful and peaceful clan. However, Dunmer slave raids began to assault them, and their population dropped to a tiny number. Desperate to avoid extinction and shame, the Saurians left for a new land, and happened to stumble upon a hidden passage which lead to an underground lake.

Their society was an example of pure equality, with a working, co-operative and unselfish community. However, tensions rose amongst some of the strongest and smartest- why should they be put on the same level as the pitiful weaklings? They formed an army known as “the Scales” and a violent civil war erupted, which lasted years and near ruined Saurian culture. After bitter fighting, the Scales were defeated, the survivors being exiled from the city.

Now Sauria has been rebuilt and their city is functioning perfectly again. There are those, however, who still would seek to collapse the peace or steal the plentiful treasures that are hidden in the temples, and you can either join them, or fight them.

They are naturally very strong and fast, and their scales have gone a snowy white beneath the earth. Whilst normally weak magically, they can up their stats using powerful shamanistic spells.

INSTALLATION: Extract in Oblivion/Data, and enable “Undernethe- Saurians.esp” in the Oblivion launcher.

IMPORTANT- In order to play as the Saurians, you must do one of two things-

1.Install the custom race fix, as found at http://elderscrolls.filefront.com/file/Custom_Race_Fix;65184#Rate

OR

Start a game as a different race, then change to the Saurians as you exit the sewers.

I think it would be great if you make these races take sun-damage because they have lived under the ground fo years. Theis eyes can't take it and it hurts wink one more time. GL!

Wouldn't that make it really hard to play as them in-game? Realistic, but unfair for the player smile

You try re-texturing a whole race, and you'll see how difficult it is. Particularly with Argonians (funny-shaped heads big grin).

And if you read, you'll see they are supposed to be Argonians adapted over a fairly short time.

Though the only difference is paleness, it fits with the story so im not complaning about the small change. But fire legion, all you have to do is for this is open all the textures individually in a paint shop type thing such as gimp, colourise them and change the colour to blue. It would maybe take a minute each texture max.

Not complaining about the mod, looks and sounds great, just pointing out that it wouldn't take that long.

Why not make a version of that weather spell in Shivering Isles? It could be a reward for a high level quest if you help the guys guarding the temples, as your description says, maybe?

Thanks for trying to help, but its not that they have never seen sun before, and they don't live in pitch black, they have torches, candles, magic, and even holes in the ceiling in which sunlight comes through.

I extracted this straight to the data folder, but all it does is give me an argonian with only a shading texture, and no real texture. so a dark gray argonian.

I love the concept of what you're heading towards with the underground world, but i can make a blue argonian by putting the skin color sliders all the way to blue. still, love the concept though! Two Thumbs Up!
