Description:
No more pining for Bloodmoon for you! That's right, this allows you to become a werewolf. In my opinion, Bethesda were silly to leave these beasties out of Oblivion, and finally a polished mod has been released to fix that mistake.

I personally intend to use this, and advise you do too.

INSTALLATION:
Extract to your Oblivion/Data directory. Keep in mind this mod requires
OBSE, which you can find at http://obse.silverlock.org/
If you don't use a nothump mod, you WILL hear annoying thumps regularly with this mod.
Install nothump if you don't use Mighty Magick, and MM nothump if you use Mighty Magick

WHAT'S NEW IN BETA 3?:
-Howling: You can now howl at the moon!
-Feeding: Feeding has changed massively, now using a key and an animation
-Two Werewolf Keys: B and C.
-The b key will allow you to feed if standing near a recently killed body, and howl at the moon if you aren't
-The c key toggles night vision
-New Models: Uses the Lycanthropy V2 models by Jcarl
-Werewolf Variety: Now werewolves will have different coat colors, and you can choose your own color
-Hand Placed Werewolves Spawns: Now werewolves will spawn like normal creatures, without conflicts or savegame bloating
-Hand Placed Werewolf Hunters: Now werewolf hunters will spawn like the above werewolves and hunt em down
-NPC werewolves the player has infected only join the player if their disposition is > 80
-NPC Werewolves will howl on their own, adding a bit of ambience to the game
-Ever so small (3 points) restore health effect as a werewolf in place of a fortify health effect

DESCRIPTION:
Throughout Tamriel, a plague has stricken the people. Created by Hircine,
the Daedric Prince of the Hunt, it's victims have been transformed into half-men, half-beast.
The most common form of this curse is the werewolf, a being well known to every man and feared
to the utmost. There is no pity for a werewolf in Tamriel, especially not in Cyrodiil, which,
until shortly after the fall of Red Mountain, was plagued by these beasts. When the Nerevarine
took on Hircine and banished him to Oblivion, something happened. The werewolves began to
avoid civilization. Some said Hircine's call, during the Bloodmoon, drew them to the island
of Solstheim. Others believe Hircine dragged all but a few to his sphere to prepare for the next
hunt. Those with wishfull thinking imagined them extinct. But now they have returned to
Cyrodiil to once again plague it. Is it due to the will of Hircine, or have they always
been lurking in the shadow?

This mod adds werewolves and the ability to become one.
Werewolves will only appear at night. Hunt down
the werewolves to obtain rare ingrediants, or get bitten and become one
yourself.

To become a werewolf, pick a fight with one. Keep getting hit until
you get the disease Sanies Lupinus. Now, you have 3 days to cure this
disease, or it becomes permanent. Should you not cure it in 3 days, you
will turn into a werewolf according to the phase of the moon.

WEREWOLF INFORMATION:
As a werewolf, you'll find gameplay will change a lot. Regularly, at night, you'll
become a werewolf. As a werewolf, you'll find yourself a lot stronger,
faster, and tougher. However, you'll also find there are some severe dis-
advantages. First of all, you cannot cast spells that require magicka
as a werewolf, and you cannot use any armor or weapons while in wolfy
mode. You will end up with a damaged willpower as well.
Also, you'll find yourself overcome with bloodlust, which drains
your stats until you feast upon a corpse. Unless you have a willpower
greater than 80, you'll have to feed upon an NPC corpse. With a willpower 80 or greater, you can get
away with creature corpses as well. However, should you fail to remove your lust by the end
of the night, you will face penalties until your next transformation, when you must feed again.

In addition to the bloodlust, you'll find that people don't like werewolves
much. Guards will attack on sight, as will most npcs. You'll also
want to make sure you transform away from civilization. If an npc that
is not in trouble with the law (any non-bandit, conjurer, dark brotherhood
member, etc) sees you transforming, they'll try to report your true
nature. They'll either stay and fight you, screaming the truth, or
run for the nearest other person.
You have 180 seconds to successfully kill them before the truth gets
out. Should you fail, guards will attempt to arrest you in your human
form. If you hide out for 15 days, people will forget you are a werewolf, however.

You can also infect NPCs. Be careful, as infected npcs will not always
want to join you in the hunt (they must have a disposition greater
than 80 to join you).

yeah so the mod aint working for me frown, i load my game and then it says:

WARNING: A script failure was detected in Curse of Hircine. Please make sure you are running a compatible version of Oblivion Script Exteneder. If you are still having trouble, please contact the mod developers.

when i try to use the obse loader it say i am useing 1.1.0.425 beta patch of Oblivion and to use the nonbeta patch 1.1.0.511 but i do not know were to get the patch can someone plz helpfrown

People who are having the script problem here is what I did to get it to work properly. Unload the mod. Go into the game and make a clean save, Exit the game reload the mod go into the game and click LOAD and then load the saved game that you just had. This fixed it for me, lets see what it does for you guys.

Basically ive been missioning around 4 hours and hours and i can find no sign of the werewolves anywhere, and i have never heard them howl either, any help as to where they are would be greatly appreciated!!!

Seriously i have been looking now for so many hours...at night....in the wilderness and i cant even find 1 werewolf, let alone different coloured coated beasts of hell!
I have looked in all the outback areas but still with no luck, are they inside caves or what? cause ive gone on horseback and on foot at night for so long now, im looksing interest in actually finding a werewolf, plz could someone lend me a hand if they have found one themselves.

I finally found one, At Fort Nikel (other side of the huge bridge going to the imperial city) along with a werewolf hunter who keeps KILLING IT, when i fought it it would not say i got infected yet i would have nightmares without transformation, even after sleeping and waiting for about 10 days...oh well at least there's question solved.and you should be able to find a werewolf cuz i went there probably three times and found it everytime...ps really sorry if the creator of this mod gets mad for me telling everyone where it is

I'm getting *****ed off stick out tongue!!! i've been looking for those werewolfies for 2 days straight now and i havent seen ***** yet! only Hunters, can someone please tell me where to find them? giving this mod a 4 for 3 reasons
1: To much stress finding the werewolfes
2: to few of them

This Mod is actually Pretty sweet man,not really my style of werewolf but still real cool i'll give a 8/10 on this one Rock . oh and if you don't want to be a werewolf after awile just turn off the Mod.it didn't mess up my saves at all,but just in case you should make a back up.

I took a look around Fort Nikel (at dusk) and was attacked by a bandit and contracted "Sanies Lupinus" (sp?) from him. I realize this sounds odd but it happened a second time (a bandit, again) so I'm not sure if it's a glitch or not.

Anyway, I decided to head west and about halfway between "Brindle Home" and "Elenglynn" I encountered a werewolf and contracted the disease again (though I hadn't bothered to cure myself after getting attacked by the bandit). I was deep in the woods; open your world map and look at the halfway point between the previously mentioned locations...THIS is where I encountered my first werewolf. Now, to see I actually change or not.

FYI, I'm running Oblivion.esm via OBSE and using the mods AW_Wings.esp, cidnothump.esp, CurseOfHircine.esp, RingOwings_Switcher.esp and RingOfWings_Wingless.esp.

Yeah man that bandit is actually the werewolf's form during the day, i stayed around the fort till day and the werewolf turned into a bandit.The game bugged out though and he still had the werewolf head which looked really friggin weird. lol.

Whenever I start to play Oblivion, I don't have the expansion, I load the game and it says there's an error and that I should check if my OBSE is valid. I have downloaded it all right and it still does this. The Curse of Hircine will not work. Any suggestions?

And I found another werewolf for those who can't, Pothole Caverns. Also I infected the guy that owns the inn of ill omen, the khajiit that owns the faregyl inn, and the other khajiit who does the potato snatcher quest. The first one died though, following me to Cheydinhal. Need mod Werewolf team!

When I go to said locales to find Werewolves at night mind you, past nine o'clock all I find are Black Bow Bandits and Bandit Hedge wizards?!?!?confused

there is a better mod then this really works. it has werewolfs and cures for lycanthropy and disease for lycanthropy. and u can became a lich god! google werewolf mods for oblivion

I've looked at the Fort Nikel site for a werewolf on one of my original saves and a brand new one but all i ever find is a "Bandit Hedge Wizard" (Night and Day, and occasionally he's dead), a regular wolf and occasionally a Werewolf hunter. And a DB in the pond behind the Fort. Which one is supposed to attack me for the Disease? I've looked in other places (Fort Redman, the forest between Brindle Home and Elenglynn) and all i've found are regular bandits or black bow bandits, day and night, as if they don't transform. Any thoughts or surefire sightings of Werewolves would be hot.
I'll reserve judgement on how gd this Mod is until it actually works.

I've looked at the Fort Nikel site for a werewolf on one of my original saves and a brand new one but all i ever find is a "Bandit Hedge Wizard" (Night and Day, and occasionally he's dead), a regular wolf and occasionally a Werewolf hunter. And a DB in the pond behind the Fort. Which one is supposed to attack me for the Disease? I've looked in other places (Fort Redman, the forest between Brindle Home and Elenglynn) and all i've found are regular bandits or black bow bandits, day and night, as if they don't transform. Any thoughts or surefire sightings of Werewolves would be hot.
I'll reserve judgement on how gd this Mod is until it actually works.

Well finally, a werewolf infected me, i killed it and went to a bed.
Didn't sleep though, just used wait for 3 days, then i sleep for 1 hour and poof im a werewolf.
Only my werewolf is a very special one, ts very yellow with a gray ! mark in it....

I have tried installing it a few times more and stuff, but it just doesnt work, uber-lame..!!

So any one got these problems too?

instead of the script problem that I used to have... I get that it's not properly initializing and since i'm like not old enough to understand what that means can someone explain a way to fix the problem... it only shows up if i use the nothump data file but if i don't use it i am pretty sure it works i haven't hunted for werewolves yet because i hear they are a pain to find and also because i would like to fix all the problems so i can use all my other mods again.

not bad but i have a few ideas that may improve this. note i know its a beta. and its relay good. even thou a few things with the werewolf models. aka no tail physics. and a few glitches aka you can see wireframe markings on the models. i dont think thats a big issues just a glitch. note it may just be me. also need to rework the minion or other werwolf's that join the hunt with you. ai. mostly that they just follow you and dont help when city guard is on you.

but thats besides the point. the real thing is i want quest to do with as a werewolf. aka like in blood moon. also i would love to have like a pack type of setup. aka where i command a pack of werewolf's. tell them what to do. random events stuff like that. to really emerge myself in the world of werewolf oblivion.. but hey its a great mod. totally love it.

i wonder and this maybe a possible quest a group of werewolves more civil with there own small village with a small town guard of human and werewolf with Were versions of vanilla armor.

maybe it isnt the mod that is messing up, maybe it is cheats and other mods messing it up, do you need to be under level X to turn into a werewolf? can you have the God-Mode cheat running? do you have to wait 3 days AFTER the dream to turn into a werewolf? (p.s. my khajiit never even falls down after the dream,..... so im not sure) do you need to be a non-beast race (not a khajiit, argonian, or custom race(ex. Senche))
are there certain skill and atribute limits to what you need to become a werewolf, or can any-skill level become a werewolf?

i love this mod haven't tryed it yet thought but i am using #28's idea by going to fort Nikel and starting there at night of course and going in invisible so i can kill the hunter first and guys if the werewolf dude dosen't transmit his diese after he is dead hit the ~ key and type "resurrect" without the quotes and if you see a hunter do the same thing except type "kill" with out to quotes.

ok, I've been trottin along in-game for HOURS! I went to fort nikel and stayed threr for a week(in-game time) and then to chorrol and walked around there for 'bout a week (I-G time) and then trotted back an' forth on the road west of skingrad for 'bout a week( I-G time). PLZZZZ help me idk where to find those werewolfs... i have found 'bout 10 werewolf hunters (and killed most of them...) I found ALOT of bandits, hedgies, blackbows, etc.... but no werewolfs.

I have had some problems like those explained in #14, and i did as #21 said to fix it, but it only fixes it for a short period of time, when i exit the game and start again it comes up...plz! I begu all help me I so wanna play with this mod...Bethesta really *****ed me off for not making a werewolf disease, not to speak of the bad skins for the vampires! well well.....I'm waitin' for ur responds to how to fix mah' problems

The bandits are the werewolves. I attacked one and contracted the disease whilst the bandit was in human form.
cos i didn't want to wait, i set the game speed super fast (set timescale to 10000)
and all the dialoges popped up saying had dreams, had become a werewolf etc.
you have to wait to the fullmoon the first change.

werewolf / bandit locations:
-hero hill
-Ondo
-silvertooth cave
-bravil River 12
-choral stables
-dragon claw rock
-fort alessia
-fort goldtheat ?
-Fort nikel
-various locations in the wilderness.

I discovered these by opening the hircine mod in the Oblivion constriction set (map editor). Modified cells have a '*'

with the "Infect NPC" option turned on, i've notices that 'civilian' NPC can be infected but i have not yet infected a guard. Is it supposed to be that way?

Towns people who iv'e infected do sometimes follow me around, and seem to assist in attacking guards. if those towns people die, will they respown as werewolfs or as default actor. (i hope they do actually respawn. i have on occasion killed the entire town of bravil before i put the mod on, and they seemed to respawn in time.)

i love the dept of this mod but my biggest issue is that you cant wait while your a werewolf(wish is ok when i want to hunt but when i'm a vamp atleast i can wait inside) and sometimes it would mess with my cast setting (powers didnt go off with c either) i saw that a beta 4 should be released sometime in the near future, i hope these are fixed smile

I finally got mine to work.
So here's what I did:
1) I'm running Vista, so this may not be the same for everyone, but I installed Oblivion with its own folder as C:/Oblivion.
2) Download the mod and unzip it to your Data folder as usual (if you have previous mods, it may ask to merge folders, click 'yes').
3) Click the link to download OBSE. Like a few others have said, unzip this into your Oblivion folder rather then the Data folder. You will need to click on this folder and copy and paste the contents into the Oblivion folder.
4) Now there should be an OBSE_loader.exe file; click on this and it should ask if you want to run it. Hit 'run' and the game should come up by itself.
5) You must start a new game, however, otherwise you will receive an error in a previous save saying this mod wont initialize properly.
6) Hopefully you will now hear/see/get infected by werewolves in game.

Also, I've found this mod interferes with the use of others. If you don't want OBSE to run, hit cancel when the box shows up and turn off the files associated with it in the loader screen.
