Community Links Compromised - Network News
Posted by: GOODY on 06-28-2009 @ 07:28 - Source: Goody
This News Item has been viewed 385,982 times
The community links on every Network site has been compromised and they redirected to a illegal warez site.
We have corrected this but unfortunately we could not recover the links to restore them. As a result all of the links have been deleted to protect the people who sent the original links into us.
While this could be seen to be a set back we are taking the view that although this has caused all the staff some extra work it is still a good time for a fresh start as some of the links were probably dead ones.
Some site managers have already started restoring known links on there sites Two Thumbs Up!

We would like you to either resubmit any link you had on your chosen site and submit new ones.
You can find the link in the left menu under "The Community"
This is not the affiliates but the links. Here is a example

Wow! This stinks! Not that I ever use those links, but it certainly doesn't help those who do.

Though, this doesn't suprise me too much, as I've never thought warez sites to be remotely trustworthy, nor would I imagine them being above doing this sort of thing.

Well, best hope we can get true links up-and-running again before too long.

That could have just been site advertisements. Hate them.

That sounds like a bad advert. Can you take a screen shot of the ad that was on the page at the time along with as much info as you can to network@filefront.com so the guys incharge can make sure it stays off the sites.

The problem with links is that some SMs just accept them without really looking at the sites.

It sucks the old links are gone, but I think there was a need to replace some of them as some of them were actually dead.

Was going to suggest copying the link page URL into google and looking at their cached pages. I assume the links weren't embedded on the site so all it'll do is just give you the link names?

...just a thought.

You know what's really weird, even posted the messag from C&C files! Spend all my time on Supreme Commander files/GPGForums, as I can't stand the way modding has been laid out since Tiberium Wars and the graphic styling in RA3 kills me a little inside every time I play.

Non-deformable mesh animations for the win! Ugh, may actually goo back to Generals... a simpler time for simpler people.

No, the links page was borrowed by a mean person. From what I understand, you don't have to re-submit your file.

Meh. CnC 3 and Ra3 were both fun, but it didn't have the replay value that generals has. I'm actually getting back into generals with all the mods that are out there.

If your interested, we are remaking Nuker's Reborn mod and another modeler would be awesome. wink We are hosted at http://zhreborn.com

so this is why the website is now ''medalofhonorfiles.filefront.com'' instead of ''mohfiles.com''

# 19 It has been like that for years. Entering mohfiles.com will lead you straight to the FF site, I think this is already there since 2003 or 04.

# 21: Warez describe things like cracks or serial key generators.

# 22: SIte links do not contain banners, if you would like to have a mod banner for the news items submitted you will need to send them to the site manager.

The affiliates system does not work the same way that regular links work. To become an affiliate you have to contact the site manager and add the 88x31 image to the e-mail. The exact details for this can be found under the "Become an affiliate" section our sites have.

When posting comments, you must follow these rules:
  1. No "Yay I got First Post!" posts, no exceptions and no matter what other content the post has!
  2. No Pornographic Material. Any sexually oriented imagery or links to such content will not be tolerated.
  3. No Warez or Illegal Software. This includes linking to software, posting about it, and suggesting to get it.
  4. No Cursing or Swear words. We encourage you to use our comment sections as a forum to debate files, news, etc., but please use proper adjectives to express yourself. We will not tolerate abuse upon another member or author.
  5. No Attacks / Retaliation of any kind against a member, or group of members.
  6. Please do not advertise for other sites or forums here.
  7. Maximum of 3 smileys per regular member.
The high interactivity of this site should be considered a luxury, not a right. If you cannot follow these simple rules, you can and will be warned or banned from the comments, site or the entire network for any period of time.
Now enjoy yourself and behave!
