Filefront Gaming Today News: PAX 2010: Hands on With Duke Nukem Forever – Seriously

The demo opened with Duke looking down at a urinal. There is a prompt on the screen that says, “RT – Piss.” (I played it on Xbox 360.) So I held down the right trigger, and Duke pissed and sighed. And pissed. And pissed. When he finally finished, Duke and I leave the bathroom, and I discover we’re in a professional football team’s locker room. The team: the Detonators. Appropriate.

Scattered around the room are policeman. Some of them are alive. Some of them can walk, even. See, the aliens are still around, and they’re still killing everyone. The ones who can walk are discussing a plan for taking down a giant alien that’s hanging out on the football field, and they’ve written the plan on the whiteboard. He asks if Duke has anything to add. We walk over the whiteboard, pick up a marker and start drawing squiggles all over it. We step away, satisfied. The policeman is suitably impressed, telling us that our addition to the plan is brilliant, even though he doesn’t understand it at all, and that he’s sure that fella on the ground over there would still have his leg and both his balls if he were as smart as we are.

Filefront Gaming Today News: A First Person Shooter Version Of GTA IV. Awesome.

Grand Theft Auto IV is, no doubt, one of the greatest games ever made. It richly deserved the endless fawning, including that perfect 10 IGN threw at it before they gave themselves time to think about the fact that no, wait, actually GTA IV is kind of a disappointing let down. NOTE to Rock*: Next time, make it possible to actually enjoy the ending of the game, mmk?

The crummy, catharsis-free ending aside, GTA IV really is an incredible game. Its version of Liberty city is one of the most amazing, fully realized gaming environments every created (despite the fact that it has far more “irrelevant space” than promised), and it’ll be years before someone tops it. But how much better would it have been if you got to berate Roman from first person POV? As it turns out, it’s extremely much better. Modder C06alt put this together and the results speak for themselves:

You can Get this mod from here - FPS GTA IV

Filefront Gaming Today News: PAX 2010: Alternate Titles for Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One

As you know, old, last-generation Ratchet and Clank games often had amusing double entendres for titles, like Up Your Arsenal. And the new Ratchet and Clank, subtitled All 4 One, a pun on the fact that it’s co-op. Tonight at the Insomniac Games panel at PAX, a bro asked the Insomniac bros if they had considered giving this game that kind of hilariously irreverent. There answer was: “yes.” Here are some sexually charged titles they either jokingly told us they considered or they actually considered:

Fiends with Benefits (one of the playable characters is Nefarious)
Four Play
Multiple Organisms

Filefront Gaming Today News: PAX 2010: Dead Space 2 Hands-On Impressions

2008′s Dead Space is possibly the scariest survival-horror/action games ever made. It was packed with big, legitimate scares, and the setting was just terrifying. It was also a very, very good game. The combat system invited you to systematically dismember enemies to make them weaker, which is big points right away. On top of that, Dead Space had an almost RPG-like equipment upgrade system, which added unexpected depth to it.

So, how do you improve on something that already works really well? After going hands-on with Dead Space 2 today, it seems that Visceral Games’ answer is by making very careful, subtle changes here and there, while keeping the core game intact. Dead Space 2 producer Guillaume Voghel described the new approach to us like this:

It’s a little bit more action-oriented, a little bit faster. There is more ammo in the game as well. We wanted to to give it a faster pace, while also respecting the original.

Filefront Gaming Today News: PAX 2010: Hands-On with Brink

In case you don’t know, Brink is, basically, a narrative multiplayer title. Sessions are long — my one session lasted about 25 minutes — and the maps are big. It’s also class-based; the classes affect secondary abilities, like how the engineer can build turrets and buff his teammates’ weapons, or how medics can heal downed folks, or how Operatives can interrogate downed enemies for map intel. The type of weapons you can carry depend on how you create the character himself rather than class.

I played as an engineer, and our objective, at least early on, was simple: start up a treaded robot and escort it across the map. We played as “Security,” and the “Resistance” was trying to stop us. There’s a timer counting down, and the time limit is extended as you progress through the mission.

Filefront Gaming Today News: PAX 2010: Hands-On with inFamous 2 (VIDEO)

You didn’t think that panel footage was all the inFamous 2 gameplay footage you’d get, right? Nope, Sucker Punch also had a playable demo of the game on the PAX show floor, and I played the hell out of it. Here’s a quick rundown on what we’ve got here before I post the video:

It’s in Fake New Orleans in what looks like the French Quarter.

There’s a lot of cinematic slowmo and zooms and stuff. The presentation this time around looks pretty killer.

Cole fights some mooooooooonsters which an electrified crowbar. The guys at Sucker Punch said at the panel Friday that they wanted to have more melee this time, and the demo puts a focus on that.

Filefront Gaming Today News: PAX 2010: inFamous 2 Gameplay Footage

The highlight of PAX so far, to me, was the inFamous panel. I liked it mostly for some stuff I’ll bring you later this week, but but I also liked it for what I’m about to show you: one of the Insomniac bros playing inFamous 2 on a giant projector screen. Because it looks totally great and about a million times more awesome than inFamous. Also, it takes place in and around Fake New Orleans, which is way cool.

So I could continue to talk and blah blah blah all over the place, but instead I’ll just let you watch this thing. Note that they had some issues with the projector at first, but they fix it. Watch it, please.

Filefront Gaming Today News: PAX 2010: Hands-On with LittleBigPlanet 2 (VIDEO)

LittleBigPlanet 2 was probably the game I was most excited about getting to touch at PAX. And I most definitely touched it. And I liked touching it so much that I also spent some time watching other people touch it. And both were wonderful.

The level I played wasn’t too different from the kind of thing you’d see in the first game, design-wise, but it had a twist: as we went through, we’d find and free some red-eyed Zonies (or what looked like Zonies), and they’d follow use through the level. The problem, they can die just like the sackboys can, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. But having this large group of these things trotting after us was just bout the cutest, most awesomest thing ever. It was overwhelming.

Filefront Gaming Today News: PAX 2010: LEGO Universe Video Interview

When the first LEGO Universe trailer came out at CES this year, you may have been slightly misled about the game’s direction. The trailer looked dark, action-packed, adult, but in the world of LEGOs. Personally, I was picturing the LEGOs answer to Age of Conan, or something.

After seeing a demonstration of LEGO Universe at PAX today, and shooting a video interview with producer Brian Johnson, I can tell you the game is most definitely not “dark” at all. LEGO Universe is a light MMO for people of all ages, in which you create your own LEGO structures, share them with friends, go on quests, gather new equipment, and generally enjoy using your imagination and building stuff brick-by-brick.

Filefront Gaming Today News: PAX 2010: Mortal Kombat Hands-On Impressions

NetherRealm Studios is making a big effort to take Mortal Kombat back to the good old days of fatalities, lots of blood and fast 2D fighting. “Old skool,” with a “k” we assume, is how MK producer Hector Sanchez described it to us today at PAX.

Phil Owen and I interviewed Sanchez, and then got a chance for a little hands-on time. I was Scorpion, and Phil was Sub Zero. MK is unapologetically 2D, and beautiful. The character models are the most detailed, sophisticated models ever in an MK game. The characters will accrue “damage detail” over the course of the match, which gets more severe as you take a beating. The blood ages in MK. And even if you’re winning, you will get bloody, since your opponent’s blood will splash on you.

Speaking of blood: Because of the lack of blood in MK vs. DC, Sanchez told us that NetherRealm is going extra bloody for the new Mortal Kombat. They’re going to overcompensate to make 100% sure there’s enough. I was pleased to hear this

Filefront Gaming Today News: PAX 2010: Star Wars: The Old Republic Video Preview

At PAX yesterday, Dallas Dickinson (right), Director of Production for BioWare in Austin, Texas and Blaine Christine (left), Senior Producer for BioWare unloaded a metric ton of information on Star Wars: The Old Republic. If you’re looking to get a handle on the game’s features, story, classes, etc., you’ve come to the right place.

We captured the entire fifty-three minute presentation on video (embedded below). We’ve also provided descriptions of each of the segments in the video, along with time stamps in case you want to jump around this massive beast. The video includes 2 live gameplay demos, several segments highlighting all 8 playable classes, followed by a final Q&A session with lead writer Dan Erickson. Phew! It was an information-packed hour, to be sure.

Filefront Gaming Today News: PAX 2010: The Force Unleashed 2 Gameplay Video

At yesterday’s Star Wars: The Old Republic panel, we got a little surprise in the form of a live gameplay demo for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2. So, we have a surprise for you fine readers in return: we shot the whole thing on video, embedded below.

The never-before-seen demo takes place on the planet of Kato Neimoidia, which was briefly revealed in Episode 3. Here’s a few new gameplay tidbits we noticed in the video:

* Dual-saber combat, more acrobatic moveset.
* Enemy: “Riot Troops.” Have powerful staffs that can deflect light sabers
* Force throw + lighting shock move.
* “Disarm” moves. Can steal Riot Troops’ staffs, and smack them with it.
* “Grapple” moves. Extended melee takedown animations.
* Enemy: “Jump Troopers,” have jetpacks.

Battlefield 1942: Bad Company 2: Server R21 is being deployed
According to staff member, MikaelKalms, of the UK Forums, BC: 2 servers are going through an update. This will not affect clients, only server owners. So, if you happen to own a BC: 2 server, please feel free to read below:

Quote:
Since Friday evening, servers are gradually being upgraded to R21. It was developed in response to some RSPs reporting that players would spam in the text chat, and that would cause stuttering for other players.

·There is a spam filter for text-chat: if someone sends 5 messages in 10 seconds, that player is muted for 60 seconds, ·Text chat can be muted across the entire server, ·Individual players can be promoted to “admin” (cannot be muted, spam filter does not apply) and “muted” (never allowed to text chat), ·All settings configurable via remote admin interface, ·New textfile on-disk: textchatmoderationlist.txt [list of which players are admin & muted], ·Updated docs; available at [url]http://static.cdn.ea.com/dice/u/f/bf...inistrator.zip

CnC 3: Tiberian Sun Rising Media Dump
Assassin from Tiberian Sun Rising has recently had a chance to show off Tiberian Sun Rising, the mod that brings Tiberian Sun aftermath to C&C3 graphics, at an independent games festival. The team actually got to set up a booth with computers and have people play the latest version of their mod! It's good to see a C&C mod getting some publicity like this.

In addition, there are quite a few screenshots of the game in action, and we get to see the icy battlefields such as Hammerfest. The real question is, will the units be able to fall through the ice as mine did all too often in Tiberian Sun?

Empire at War: FOC Enhancements: August Status Update
Hi everyone,

Just so you know, the mod isn't dead, and will be uploaded to FileFront tonight. So you should get the goodness early September.

It is a complete revamp of 0.4.2 and includes the Underworld faction brought back. However the "Pirate Consortium" as they are now called, are in beta and not finished yet. All particles are re-done (again) and there is no more crashes. Aside from that, just a few tweaks and fixes. But, be assured, KOTOR era is on its way! Hopefully around late September/October. In the meantime, I will patch the pirates.

We are still looking for anyone with modding experience; be it coding, mapping, modeling, etc..

Empire at War: Legacy Era Mod: Hanging in There
Hey everybody. So I FINALLY got around to posting another update on the mod. It’s been overdue. Long, long overdue. With that said, there isn’t actually much to show you besides a few new units, as mostly coding progress has been made. The release date been pushed back several weeks-I’ve slated it to release by the last day of September, hopefully before. Life has been busier than expected, and I haven’t had the good chunks of time for working on the mod like I used to. Progress is coming along slower than expected, and as a result I haven’t even gotten to give the testers a version to bug hunt in. We’re going to make sure that as many bugs are resolved as possible-I want this to be a very clean, smooth running mod.

Before going any further, read these two updates if you haven’t already:

http://empireatwar.filefront.com/news/ Legacy_Era_Mod_Summer_Update_Series_1_Galactic_Alliance_Modern_Naval_Forces
;47501
http://empireatwar.filefront.com/news/Summer_Update_Series_2_Krayt_Empire_Modern_Naval_Forces;47721

The last update was oh, what, more than a month ago? What a shame, I’ve left everyone not on Moddb and EEAW in the dark, and even they have been out of the loop somewhat. That’s poor PR; something I’m not all about. A number of things have changed; I’ve slashed the two update detailing the older units, as they were not very important articles. However, the update showing what’s getting done to the Consortium is still… on its way. Now, let’s get down to business. Keep in mind that this is all relating to the space business of the mod.

Empire at War: Halo: First Offensive - Release on Approach
We have some very good news for those people who still linger here; we have found someone willing to help out. Noble6, who has done some work for us before, has agreed to put all the assets we had planned for the demo in-game so we can release it. We don't have an ETA on the demo, but once we know more, either Ds or me will post another update here.

I, personally, hope that this release will encourage people to come and join this mod so we can finish it all the way. Remember, though we are on hold, WE ARE NOT DEAD!!!

GTA San Andreas: Poll Issues, latest poll and GTA V Rumours
As I'm sure that most people have noticed the featured files and poll have not been updated in weeks (the featured files have been updated every week, they just don't show on the main page), these are both caused by a bug that is currently waiting to be fixed. Filefront are aware of this problem and hopefully these will be fixed in the next few weeks. One of the reasons why I haven't updated the poll in several weeks. Although since I posted one that also didn't show up, I'd thought that I would include it in this news post so at least you can still vote on it so at least it doesn't look like we aren't doing anything.

There have been several rumours about GTA V over the past month with most of them seemingly focused on the LA area which was part of San Andreas (Los Santos), although from IGN where there were more rumours mentioned a couple of users even wanted something like the "Isle of Wight" for the next GTA! Personally however I would like to see something other than the United States for once, since almost all of the GTA games have been based there and in my opinion I just think that it should be somewhere else, say the UK or even europe...

Lord of the Rings Online: Dev Diary - Wardrobe System
Here is another Dev Diary by Elliot Gilman about the Wardrobe system in Lord of the RIngs Online that will be released in the new free to play release, which will be going live on September 10th.

Quote:
The latest Developer Diary by Elliot "Avon" Gilman concerning the Wardrobe System that will be released with the upcoming Free-to-Play release on September 10th. For those who are unaware of what the Wardrobe system might be, it is a “…system designed to store the appearances of these items and includes some unique features not seen with shared storage or the vault.”

So how will the Wardrobe be used? Well first off, it is not exactly storage. Think of it as an area where you can “copy” an item so that it is accessible by all of your characters. The original item will stay in its original location (such as a character’s backpack).

Stalker: ASUS EAH5870 V2 STALKER Edition Video Card
The guys over at ASUS have put together a special edition S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Video card based upon the AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5870. The tech guys over at [H]ard OCP have just put together a review of this card to see if this special edition has what it takes to make it in the zone.

Quote:
The ASUS EAH5870 V2 STALKER Edition is a fully customized and re-designed product from ASUS, built upon the Radeon HD 5870 GPU platform. It uses the same GPU and memory specification from AMD’s reference design, but with a custom cooling device and a custom Printed Circuit Board. The GPU on the EAH5870 V2 is clocked slightly higher than AMD’s reference design, coming in at 868MHz versus 850MHz reference specification. The 1GB of GDDR5 is clocked at 1.2GHz, or 4.8GHz DDR, matching AMD’s reference design. The video card is in stock right now for $448.

The packaging prominently features character art from the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, which is bundled with the video card. The front of the box features a number of icons, describing some of the key features of the contained video card. The backside of the box is standard, mostly listing features and system requirements. There is also a large graphic indicating that voltage tweaking is possible on this video card.

Battle for Middle Earth 2: ROTWK: BFME2 Arcade Edition
Here is the latest release of the BFME2 Arcade Edition, the mod is no longer updated but this will be used as a mirror for the mod.

This particular mod throws out all the conventional rules of abiding and non-abiding factions, heroes, ways to make money etc and opens the game up almost like a playable cheat code. Every good hero from all 3 factions is available from each good fortress, the same is for the evil sides also. there is also an additional structure each side can build to train MORE heroes that fit outside what the normal game had designated. this includes custom made heroes as well including Smaug (the dragon from the Hobbit) and Isildur (in ghost form).

In conjunction with the heroes any passive abilities which showed up on the Palantir as a non-press able button have been replaced with something the hero can use. the remaining slots which may or may not have been filled are also filled. so characters like Boromir who really had nothing to offer now do. All heroes are maxed out at level 10 immediately so you can take full advantage of their powers.

This mod is an add-on for Kanyhalos' Oblivion Lost v2.2. Arma 2: USMC Main Bases Helmand Valley
Hi this is my first template so there might be the odd error and what not, if so, report it on the furums. This is a template to allow mission makers to make a realistic and reletavily complex mission. The Template is basically all of the best templates I've seen mushed into one to form a complex and very capable template, only some of the work in this template is original and made by me.

Installation: Now when I was a noob to Arma I had trouble with installation so he is how to make the mission appear in game.
Extract with WINRAR (Or watever you have to extract files) to Yourname/Documents/Arma 2 Other Profiles/YourArmaName/missions
It will proably be different with windows 7 and XP but I'm sure you can figure it out.

This latest pack fleshes out the Romulans in the TNG Era, as with almost all star trek mods the Federation has the most ships however this pack attempts to rectify that to some degree by introducing a large ammount of ships for the romulan star empire. These ships are taken from other star trek games and some are new design, or designs inspired from other star trek mods. Ofcourse canon designs are also included.

The designs taken from older star trek games (Armada 2 and SFC3) are touched up and alterd to fit within star trek bridge commander and match the quality of all the other ships in the mod.

Farcry 2: BT-77 Kit
After being shown in the PotD section, and after the release of the first teaser, here is the final release of the BT-77 Tank for FarCry 2. It includes all the things you need to easily construct and place a BT-77 as you imagine it. This is a plain version with no decorations and details, you'll have to add them yourself wink

This kit includes: Complete BT-77 tank, BT-77 wreck, BT-77 with fire (only visible at night), BT-77 model without tower, Tower seperated from the tank, Threads seperated from the tank, Misc parts that are useful for details and building more tanks.

Please Note that this is not an actual vehicle. It's just a bunch of parts thrown together to look like a tank. You will not be able to drive the tank or shoot the tank's cannon. This is the final and last release. There will be no more releases of this. If you didn't know, the tank pack I planned to do has been cancelled. Sorry for any inconvenience. Other projects may follow.

Jedi Knight III: Base Customization
Raven sure did recycle a lot of body parts when making the various player models in JKA...

This mod takes advantage of that, by allowing you to customize the Jedi and Reborn using clothing from other BaseJKA models, such as Luke and Kyle. Wow, for real?

Ravensoft could have used a style like this. Seriously, I'm surprised they didn't. Not only would it be relatively easy to do, it would allow for so much customization. This mod does a good job. All sorts of customization, no default kyle when someone doesn't have it. If I have one gripe, it's the fact that some parts are missing (such as Kyle's shoulder pad) due to them not existing on the jedi or reborn. But I understand that the author can't do much about that, so I'll forgive him. There's not much else I can say about this mod, so I'll end the review on this note: It's worth it.

Jedi Knight III: His Holy Noodliness: The Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM)
There isn't a whole lot to review here, other than the fact that the chosen FSM image could have been better. Sure, the quality is good, but I think this would be better with something more, um... 2D

This mod affects the skyboxes used in 4 of the 5 FFA maps. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, for fans of FSM), this affects more than just the FFA maps, as the baseJKA skyboxes are shared a lot. Not only among the base maps, but custom ones too, since skyboxes are often hard to make. But no worries. It's still an interesting mod, to say the least. And Caelum, for boasting that you were in my reviewmobile in the (pre-review) description box, I sentence you to 20 lashes...

Company of Heroes: BlackForest
About the file
This small two player map set in a dense pine forest features numerous small buildings as well as rivers and roads; some flooded over from the torrential rain. This map is suited more to the infantry players who will have an advantage being able to navigate through the trees easier than say an armoured force, the water across the roads ensure that any vehicle daring enough to travel along those routes are easy pickings for anti-tank units and mines. Keep track of your units in the mist or run the risk of finding your opponent launching sneak attacks against your base.

Staff impression
This is a rather well made map, good object placement, good enviroment (great use of fog in my opinion), good use of textures and splats, no repeated textures, yep this map just about has it all. Only thing i could give advice for would be for more screenshots, people want pictures of the map not boring descriptions like these (jokes, jokes). But apart from that tiny drawback (which isn't even map related mind you) this map is certainly well done.

Company of Heroes: UPDATED LYES KROVY (Bloody Forest)

About the File
This is an update to the forest map "Lyes Krovy" (meaning "Bloody Forest") by Eric the Red. It adds victory points, as well as correcting a number of small bugs with the AI. It also alters the forest to make infantry movement a little easier, and some of the footbridges now work a little more like footbridges.

Staff Impressions
I think my last review pretty much sums it up:
Quote:
This map is well set-up for infantry warfare, with few resources meaning that more advanced units will be out of reach. While this makes fortification difficult, it also means that players will have to be creative with how they spend their points.

Graphically, this map conveys the "dark forest" idea very well, with lots of trees, as well as small houses, a mill, and a river. Watch out for flanking attacks at all times, because it's almost guaranteed there is more than one route to any particular location.

This map by Crazyman300 features a simplistic yet effective layout and design scheme that allows for the support of more linear battles. Empire at War: Kuat: KDY Headquarters
Yet another map in Corusca_Fire's series of Kuat Campaigns. This urban map comes with an excellent back story that can perfectly sets up the map for the player. This map is well laid out and features some creative usage of props to establish the urban theme. The textures and lighting are a bit bland though and do not aid in promoting any of the more interesting areas of the map. The author could of also taken time to use props to cover up the edges of the higher parts of the map. Overall though this is a well made map and is a great sequel to chapter one of the Kuat Campaign.

Gah! Its me again! I've been sumbitting too many maps, haven't I? Oh well; theres another one, Kuat: Rearguard Action, thats gonna be ready soon. This is Chapter 2 of the Kuat Campaign. Star Wars Battlefront 2: Bespin: Escape (3.5 Final)
Jendo7's map Bespin: Escape is a large-scale urban map set on the planet Bespin in the floating Cloud City. It's essentially a heavily redone Cloud City-esque map. Although this map is a v3.5, the last version of the map was released in December 2009... so it's been a long time since we've seen this one on the site.

The map is set around an open courtyard-like area in the center. There are a couple command posts in this area. A hallway network surrounds the courtyard on most of its sides, with more CPs to capture up in the halls. There are several flyers located on platforms throughout the map, and one will occasionally spawn on them. There are also walkers in the courtyard for your enjoyment. The map has a carbon freezing chamber and a flyable Millenium Falcon to add to its list of features. It's very well put together, well designed, and overall very fun to play.

Star Wars Battlefront 2: Marvel4's BF1 Conversion Pack
If you've been paying attention to the site recently, you'll have noticed that there is a bit of a trend in regards to lots of rehashing the SWBF1 maps, and many of these have been done by Marvel4.

What we have here is a bit redundant, in that it is simply a single download of all these maps that have already been uploaded. I say that it is redundant, because it doesn't really reduce addon clutter - all the maps are still in individual folders, so there's zero difference between downloading this or downloading the maps individually. I suppose that that is a difference, but the sizes will work out to be the pretty much the same anyway, bandwidth-wise.

Team Fortress 2: CP Gullywash (Final)
Map takes place in a desert-beach like environment, where blu and red compete over the only source of water. The idea behind the strange cappoints is to provide a different experience to the player, making strategic choices when approaching and capping a point, instead of the standard flat surface all standard 5cp-maps consist of. Middle point is rounded and has 2 different levels of height from which players can cap, it's important to take control of the top but you lose the advantage of having healthkits nearby.

Point 2/4 also has 2 different levels from which you can cap but the catch is that the player capping on top can't jump while capping. if you do jump you will no longer be capping/blocking the point. Having a height advantage but at the cost of mobility will make you think twice.

Waaaaaaow O_O ... what a step up, TK. Seriously, that picture musta helped you gobs, because I think you've did it. You've made the most accurate Imperial Pilot ever to come to JKfiles, ever.

Like, seriously, every major element seems to have been covered quite well. I can't find a single element that isn't really inaccurate in the least bit. Yes, one could gripe that the tubes go around the back of his head instead of the front, but honestly, WHO CARES? Without a helmet model overhaul, this skin has definitely hit the nail on the head majestically. Every body element that was discussed in the previous version was fixed, and on both skins too, so the no helmeted pilot is also available to thee.

Now, this is an addition to the human male Jaden's menu, so you can mix it with other stuff as you like. Quality-wise, though you should be able to see on the screenshots that it isn't the most detailed skin ever, it is quite acceptable. I mean, atleast it's not a desaturated reborn or anything. stick out tongue There is room for improvement. Specifically, I'd love to see more detail & a less white-and-clean look. Knights of the Old Republic I: Aviators
Dak Drexl returns to KotORFiles with a new mod, adding aviator sunglasses to KotOR. The aviators come in brown, black, blue, and metallic, and come with stat bonuses of +1 dexterity, and +5 persuade. They are not available anywhere in the game, and will need to be added by the player to the inventory using the cheat console. Instructions are in the readme file.

The mod has novelty, and is certainly an amusing addition to the game. With that said, there are a few points where the mod could do with improvement, as well; the model of the glasses noticeably has lenses that are flat as a pancake, and this gives them an appearance of being cut-outs, rather than real glasses; a slight curve would improve that, as would a slightly smoother edge to the lenses. The texture, too, could do with some improvement - a little more visible detail would greatly improve this mod. Placement in the game would also, of course, be nice. None of this is to say that the mod is bad, however; on the contrary, it's a nice, fun addition to the game, and certainly worth a look.

However, a few skins were heavily modded since there were made for MP, converted and modded for Single Player Ais, and then reconverted for MP again. It consists in 17 player skins. As I have a few more skins in Op. Krugerland and in some other mods, i believe ill release another pack when i have time to put them together. I also realize that i left out some interesting skins too, that might be useful for the community. Ill release them, hopefully in another packs.

Hope this skin pack turns out useful. I didnt make the all the skins by myself, some people colaborated, or i used some other people player skins and tweaked them. So, please read the readme, however some credit goes for Herr_Klug , Magna_Carta, PKM.

Star Trek: Legacy: Alternate Reality Venture Class
STLegacy brings us the 25th century Venture Class battleship. As far as battleships go, the Venture is a nice addition to the fleet, a sleek design resembling that of the sovereign, employing the technologies of the period, however employing different warp nacelle designs, (maybe a new type of plasma being used).

Of course being from the 25th century, and being a self contained fortress, as many large federation vessels tend to be, you will find the Venture can take care of sizeable opponents, so don't worry if a stray Romulan Warbird crosses the border, it wont give you many troubles. As I've said the vessel employs many current technologies, weapons wise these come in the form of your standard phasers and quantum torpedoes, Upgrade them to get your additional kick smile

Star Trek: Legacy: Section 31 AR Venture Class
Here is STLegacy's section 31 version of the Venture class... S31 seem to be the chav's of the galaxy, tuning up ships at the expense of speed and defenses, reminds me of my local area. This vessel is again comprable to the larger enemy vessels, however be careful who you go up against or you will miss those shields.

The balancing isn't too bad here, and the textures are an improvement although you will need to increase the brightness of your screen to see them, the hull is very dark. there is darker hull plating, and it has i feel a better silhouette as an S31 vessel instead of a Federation battleship. Perhaps brightening and adding a slight desaturation layer on the diffuse would make this an ideal candidate look for the its federation counterpart.

I thought the majority of MMO's are p2p, so it's nothing new if it is. After all they have to keep the servers going some how.

I'd prefer P2P to be honest, because then everybody has the same amount of content, otherwise the people who have the money to pay for add-ons and things or are willing to pay more than normal are the ones that get the best stuff. ._.
