Filefront Gaming Today News: 10 Greatest Game Power-Ups to Have in Real Life (LIST)

Life would be cooler if it was a video game. Hell, that’s why we play video games in the first place. And what makes games cooler than life? Power, and more specifically, power-ups. Eat this mushroom, become huge. Touch that crystal, turn invisible. It’s all incredible, superhuman benefit, and the best part? It requires exactly zero effort on your part, aside from stepping on whatever item it is you need.

Reality, on the other hand, usually requires effort to garner a reward. Sure, you can become great at fixing things or at hand-to-hand combat, but it’s going to take massive dedication, to say nothing of the sheer will to get up off the couch. And that’s what got us here, playing video games, in the first place.

10. Stimpacks (StarCraft, StarCraft 2)
9. Oil Slick (SpyHunter)
8. Pay ‘n’ Spray (Grand Theft Auto)
7. Zombrex (Dead Rising 2)
6. A Duplicate, Mirror Image of Yourself (Galaga)
5. Yoshi (Super Mario World)
4. Rush Marine (Mega Man III)
3. Boo (Super Mario Kart)
2. Skill Books (Elder Scrolls, any RPG ever)
1. 1-up (Super Mario)

Filefront Gaming Today News: A Lionhead Animator Applies To Valve With ‘Dance Fortress’ 2

In 1482, Leonardo Da Vinci ran out of friends in Florence and needed to be somewhere else, pronto. So he sent his resume to the Duke of Milan; it informed his lordship of Leonardo’s skill in architecture, munitions, metal casting, fortifications, and tunnelling. Also, he hastily added, he was kinda good at painting and sculpture. No one has ever topped that letter for its combination of brazen pride and nonchalant humility, but we may just have seen the first serious contender. James Benson, a Lionhead animator most recently attached to Fable III, apparently wants a job with Valve. So he created Dance Fortress 2:

Filefront Gaming Today News: Blizzard Bans 5,000 Starcraft 2 Players

Blizzard has been warning players that they would be banning hackers and cheaters in Starcraft 2, and now they’ve followed through on that threat.

According to a post on the official Starcraft 2 site,

We recently took action, including suspensions and bans, on over 5,000 StarCraft II players who were in violation of the Battle.net Terms of Use for cheating and/or using hack programs while playing. In addition to undermining the spirit of fair competition that’s essential to play on Battle.net, cheating and hacking can lead to stability and performance issues with the service.

Now, we know that Starcraft 2 sold 3 million copies in its first month. Five thousand out of three million isn’t all that many, but if Blizzard took the time to make certain that those being banned were actually cheating, I’ll take a few thousand at a time.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Check out Fallout: New Vegas’ Art Direction in New Developer Diary

Three weeks. That’s the all time we have left until Fallout: New Vegas hits shelves all over North America.

The folks over at Obsidian have been doling out some nice dev diaries, including the recent one that detailed the story behind the game. This week, they’re giving us a behind the scenes look at how they came up with the art direction and unique style they’ve employed for the Vegas Strip and surrounding areas.

You’ll hear how the Rat Pack influenced the team, as well as how New Vegas will differ from the Capital Wasteland of Fallout 3. Head on over and check out the trailer, or download it from our fast, free servers.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Darkspore Gameplay Trailer is Very Spore-ish

While watching this new Darkspore trailer made up entirely of gameplay footage, I couldn’t help but feel completely lost. It’d be like if a trailer for a new Command and Conquer game were made up entirely of tanks shooting each other. And that’s what this trailer is. No story or context, just beasties battling and nerdy terms like “PVP” popping up every once in a while.

It does look pretty much exactly like Spore, though, which makes sense as the game has the word “spore” in the name. So while I felt a bit lost, it was also familiar.

Anyway, given the lack of context for the footage you’re about to see, the best way to consume it, probably, is to watch it, then read our Darkspore preview from PAX, and then watch the trailer again. It will all make sense. Here’s the trailer:

Filefront Gaming Today News: EA Caves In, Drops Taliban From Medal of Honor

The so-called controversy over the inclusion of a group called The Taliban in Medal of Honor has been, as usual, blown completely out of proportion. To date, EA has handled it well, saying that they are surprised by the controversy, and then moving on.

Apparently, the marketing folks finally got their noses into the situation, because EA has caved in and pulled the reference from the game. The group will now be called “Opposing Force.”

This isn’t the first war game that EA has made where players would take on the roles of a group that has killed American soldiers. Battlefield 1942 and Medal of Honor had players playing as Nazis, and Battlefield: Vietnam put players in the shoes of the Vietcong and the North Vietnamese Army. Where were the protests over these games?

Filefront Gaming Today News: Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Review

Ninja Theory’s Enslaved: Odyssey to the West represents what every developer should aspire to in regards to storytelling in games. Its plot is compelling, its characters genuine, its scope perfect. It has an honest-to-god theme, and it wants to say something about us.

Enslaved is the tale of the muscular, shirtless alpha male Monkey (voiced and mocapped by the incomparable Andy Serkis, who also co-directed the cutscenes) and a young woman named Trip, a pair of captives on a slave airship thrust together by chance and stuck together by Trip’s selfish machinations. The two escape the ship, Trip on the inside of an escape pod and Monkey riding on top because Trip wouldn’t open the door for him. Monkey survives the fall down into the ruins of post-apocalyptic New York City but is knocked unconscious; when he awakens, he discovers that Trip has fitted him with a slave’s headband that will force him to help her escape the city and journey back to her home hundreds of miles away.

As you might expect, their relationship has quite the rocky beginning. But as the two make their way west, they develop a bond, but not in the way you might expect. Developer Ninja Theory and writer Alex Garland (a guy who actually writes movies and books!) were determined to avoid a romantic subplot; the characters are that much more compelling for it, and it gives the plot actual subtext.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Epic Gaming Papercraft

One of my secret pleasures is papercraft. Not familiar? It’s basically just folding paper and combining sheets in such as away that you create a 3D image of some sort. Now, don’t think I’m making these things myself. No, I just enjoy seeing what sort of things people come up with.

Walyou is feeding my habit this week, offering up a list of 19 videogame-based papercraft. The Team Fortress 2 one above is just a sample of the awesomeness you can expect from this collection. It’s totally worth checking out.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Final Fantasy XIV Review

Massively multiplayer online roleplaying games are often compared to spreadsheets with pretty graphics.

Well, Final Fantasy XIV is the most attractive version of Microsoft Excel as a game I’ve ever seen. The problem is, it’s also one of the most complex and obtuse experiences in existence next to actually managing a real spreadsheet.

Final Fantasy XIV is not a typical modern online RPG. From a complicated account creation system, to a game that doesn’t bother to teach new players how it works – there are lots of obstacles in your way if you’re not determined to overlook most modern MMO conventions.

The trouble starts at the beginning. Even creating an account is an arcane process involving optional add-ons and fees. Players signing up for access to the game can buy multiple character slots, which is a nice ala cart concept except for one thing: the basic $10 fee doesn’t even get you a character slot. It merely grants access to the game and allows you to log on. You have to buy any and all character slots for $3 a pop.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Gamestop Spoils Nintendo’s Reveal of Wii Remote with MotionPlus Built In

See that picture? That’s Gamestop spoiling one of Nintendo’s big announcements at their Nintendo Conference (I’m funny) last night/today. Anyway, Nintendo has unleashed upon the world a new Wii remote that will, gasp, come with the Wii MotionPlus accessory built in. This is a very clever move by Nintendo, mostly because, damn, why didn’t this exist already?

Anywho, they revealed no details about pricing or planned release or anything else whatsoever about the thing except for saying what it is, but Flingsmash comes out on November 7, so I guess that’s when it comes out. What you’ll have to pay for it if you don’t want to get Flingsmash is still unknown, however.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Gears of War 3 Delayed to Fall 2011

Remember when the whole internet was in a state because Cliff Bleszinski was going to announce the launch date of Gears of War 3 on Jimmy Fallon’s national TV show?

Back then, Cliffy said Gears 3 would land in stores on April 8, 2011. Microsoft then said it would actually be 3 prior to that on April 5th. Now, they’ve shifted date again, saying that the game has been moved to a Fall 2011 release.

In a statement accompanying this news, Microsoft says,

Gears of War 3 promises to be the biggest entertainment launch of 2011. The teams at Microsoft Game Studios and Epic Games have done great work thus far readying the title for release in the Spring of 2011. However, we’ve elected to move the launch of Gears of War 3 until Fall 2011 to make it the marquee title for the holiday season.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Guybrush Threepwood is in The Force Unleashed II

I’m kinda at a loss for words about this. But yeah, these shots showed up on the Facebook page for the game a couple hours ago, and there they are. Presumably, Guybrush will be a skin you can unlock somehow in-game.

Oh yeah, I’m sure there are some folks who are looking at this who don’t know who Guybrush is. If you’re one of those people, I implore you to download this immediately.

Filefront Gaming Today News: iBUYPOWER Paladin XLC Desktop Review

iBUYPOWER makes some pretty impressive custom PCs for gamers using high quality components. Its Paladin line, built around Intel’s Core i series processor, offers some serious configuration choices for gamers and high performance computing enthusiasts in the $1500 – $3000 price range. The Paladin XLC sits in the middle-top of the price range and offers liquid-cooling, factory overclocking and performance components.

When considering your next system not everyone is prepared to research to find the best part for a self-assemby process. While self-assembly is a great way to save some money, gamers who want to play with the best hardware and highest game settings often look to pre-made or custom-built systems for an answer. Not everyone is comfortable kit bashing a computer. iBUYPOWER is one of several leading configuration companies out there who build performance PCs aimed at enthusiast gamers with some money to spend..

Filefront Gaming Today News: Medal of Honor “This is Tier 1″ Trailer

Medal of Honor, EA’s latest entry into the first-person shooter genre, is only a couple of weeks away. This reboot of the classic series puts gamers into the shoes of ‘Tier 1′ operatives in a modern setting.

So this begs the question: What the heck is a ‘Tier 1′ operative? Well, there’s a brand new trailer that is attempting to give you an idea of just what ‘Tier 1′ means. It also highlights that the game was developed in collaboration with US Special Operations soldiers, which seems to indicate that the realism may be off the charts.

Filefront Gaming Today News: New Star Trek Game Announced for Summer 2011 – Star Trek: Infinite Space

Star Trek Deep Space Nine returns as the setting for an upcoming browser-based game. Along with another yet unannounced game, German developer Keen Studios has a new Facebook title focusing on the classic Star Trek universe slated for release in the summer of 2011. Little is known about the title at this point, other than its name and projected launch date.

Star Trek production alum Michael Okuda, the man responsible for the design of the space station, and one of the key designers of the Next Generation and it’s sister series is working as a consultant with the game studio to make sure the game has an authentic to the Tv universe feel. His wife, Denise Okuda, who was also a scene designer and video editor on the TV shows will contribute as well.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Nintendo 3DS Hardware Design Revealed

Nintendo isn’t making a big change as it moves into the 3DS. The new model looks functionally the same as the Nintendo DSi with the addition of an analog pad and the new glasses-free 3D screen.

Final images of the unit are filtering out from the Nintendo Conference 2010 in Tokyo. The added Home, Start and Select buttons are noticable as well, but not a major departure from the industrial design of earlier models.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Nintendo Says the 3DS Will Sell Millions!

It’s not unusual for companies to predict the number of units that a new piece of hardware will sell. After all, the investors want to know what the sales projections are, and the accountants need numbers for all those glorious charts they make.

Still, when making predictions you should always try to keep things realistic, so you can hit your goals and make the investors happy. Still, Nintendo doesn’t want to be outdone by Microsoft’s crazy Kinect predictions, so they’ve made a 3DS sales prediction that may be a little ambitious.

Nintendo has said that they expect the 3DS to sell 4 million units in its first month, and 15 million 3DS game sales in the same time span. Now, those numbers are huge, and even taking into account that they are talking about worldwide sales, I would call them overly ambitious.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Play Asteroids/Destroy Websites With This Javascript

If you use Firefox or Chrome (and I don’t know about Safari because I don’t use a damn Mac), then you’re about to not do any work for the the rest of the day. You might think, “Wait a minute, Phil. If this thing you’re going to present prevents people from doing work, then how is it that you are working/telling us about this right now?” It was very difficult, but I knew I have an obligation to share this nonsense with everyone I can.

OK, so BuzzFeed has created something amazing. It’s a javascript that will let you play Asteroids in your browser on any website you want, but instead of shooting browsers, you’ll be shooting items on the page. So what I’m saying is that if you work at it long enough, you can eliminate everything off the face of a webpage. Unfortunately, this is not a virus, and so you can’t actually destroy web sites with this. But it’s still fun, so I’ll forgive it that fatal flaw. GO HERE AND DO THIS NOW. Remember, though, that if you use Internet Explorer, you are a loser and this won’t work. So get a better browser.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Whispers Say Sony Sending Out PSP2 Dev Kits

So we keep hearing about the PSP2. And then we hear about it again. And again. And now it has come up one more time.

Develop is reporting that Sony is sending out dev kits to a bunch of “key studios” so as to make it so they have a pile of high-profile launch titles for the thing. The whispers won’t give any details on the handheld other than to say that it is a thing, and none of them would speak on the record, and so for all we know they just talked to some low-level nobodies throwing out wild speculation. But I ain’t gonna throw my peers under the bus like that. I will say, however, that this clearly counts are rumor and/or speculation.

This means our most solid lead on the PSP2 so far is Mortal Kombat producer Shaun Himmerick speaking out on it a weak and a half ago. I think I might believe that guy.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Yeah, Zombies Will Be in CoD: Black Ops

Can somebody explain to me why we need zombies in our non-zombie games? I remember the first time I played the zombies mode in World At War, and I was like, “meh, I didn’t get this game because I want to kill zombies,” and then I never played it again.

However, we always sorta knew that someone at Treyarch or Activision, someone who undoubtedly makes more money than me, would decide it would be a good idea to put money and resources into a zombie co-op mode for their big blockbuster title for the year, and Treyarch’s Mark Lamia has confirmed that suspicion today.

Zombies have been such a hit with our community that we were committed to bringing brand new zombie experiences to Call of Duty: Black Ops. We’ve taken extra special care to retain the essential ingredients of our Zombie game, and have also crafted a nice surprise for the fans.

Battlefield 2: Bad Company 2 Vietnam - Huey Helicopter
An update on some of the new content to be included in the upcoming Vietnam expansion. Today we have the famous UH-1 Huey, which really needs no introduction, but it sure looks great and should provide some kick-ass gameplay once the expansion is finally released cool

Part I in an exclusive series on the vehicles and weapons of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam. The American UH-1 Huey helicopter is probably the most recognized of all vehicles from the Vietnam War. We couldn't possibly do a Vietnam expansion for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 without it. The Huey in our upcoming expansion pack has four seats: one for the pilot (sitting on the right side), two M60 machine gun positions, and one seat for an extra soldier who can use his regular loadout while in the helicopter.

Doom III: Ruiner Mod Nearing Release.
For those of you waiting for the Ruiner mod to finish up, your wait is almost over!

It has been a long time coming; Ruiner is finally starting to shape up for a public release. Right now we are starting to iron out the last major batch of bugs and tweaks. We hope to get as many squashed in time for a late October release. This will be a beta style build and does not contain everything once planned for the mod. After many years and hardships, it became apparent that we had to scale back the size of the project if it was ever going to see the light of day. This included the narration, a few weapons and the length of each level. Even though we were not able to meet our goals in terms of length and depth of the game, we were still able to get every major feature working and presented. The beta release is fully functional and does not contain any placeholders. It is our hope that this style of release will help gain some much needed feedback on the mod and help determine the future of it.

Along with today's news of release plans, we've also uploaded six new screen shots. Another trailer is also being prepared for the game's release. For more, click HERE!

McKay: „Oh, this would be super interesting.......well except fort the pie recipe. But no, this isn’t it.“
Sheppard: „What is it all about then, Rodney?“

Sheppard: „Oh brill the Wraith. But we already know all their ships.“
McKay: „Well yes the ships. But not the buildings.“
Sheppard: „Well, well, they also got buildings? Couldn’t you have said this straight away?“
McKay: „I could.“
Sheppard: „OK, show it to me, will you?“

Wraith Space Hangar

The Space-hangar is used to construct Heavy Fighters, Heavy Bombers and Experimental Darts. The jagged building is unarmed but therefore it's equipped with a quite heavy hull. Antennas with short-range sensors are attached to the exterior and there is a control center on the upper side. Located within are hangar bay and production facilities including organic-matter tanks used for spacefighter assembly.

Wraith Repair Satellite

If a Wraith vessel is damaged, it can be refitted at the Repairsatellite. It's used to speed up the organic hulls regeneration as well as to repair all technical systems. Therefore the satellite is equipped with a huge blatter filled with dermal-liquid, which is spread onto the hull in order to heal organic damage. Some mechanical arms are repairing all the ships technical components simultaneously.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas: Gravity Gun Mod for GTA IV
Here is an interesting modification that has been made for GTA IV, it is based upon the Simple Trainer trainer where one of the main features includes a Gravity Gun where you can litterally lift cars and throw them at people in a way similar to half life 2, although in the case of GTA you will have to use your gun.

The main mod will add new vehicles, menu add-ons, more in depth customization of said vehicles, and great cheats like always God Mode, Always Car God Mode, Never Reload/Unlimited Ammo, Never Wanted, Never Tired, and much more which can be found from this page. Here is a video that only shows the better part of the mod the Gravity Gun.

Various options normal to any trainer, the world's simplest speedometer, either in KM/H or MP/H or both, 60 Teleporting options that can be customized using the trainer.ini, 12 vehicle spawning options assigned to hotkeys, which also can be customized using trainer.ini, all other car models can be spawned by using the menu. A dirt simple option to change to a desired radio station using one button, (default station can also be customized using trainer.ini).

Here is something for all of you that are Resident Evil fans or just want to kill zombies in a GTA based environment. This modification basically changes all of the people in the city into Zombies which will chase you all around the city! The premise is simple: install Resident Evil IV Mod, and GTA IV npcs are replaced by armies of the undead, who proceed mob Niko until he is killed. It’s still a work in progress – it’s intended to be played in classic zombie-killing fashion, meaning with melee weapons. Unfortunately, guns aren’t disabled, and the zombies still obey the standard game’s bystander rules. If you start using projectile or explosive weapons, the zombies run away from you as fast as they can, dashing your hopes of blowing them to bits with sticky bombs. Fear not though: developer onclsam13 confirms in the mod’s comments that he’s working on the problem for a future update.

You can Download it from here - http://www.gta4-mods.com/script/resident-evil-iv--mod-v1-f6345 or avaliable on filefront - HERE

Half-Life 2: Firearms: Source - Steamworks & Media Update
Hey gamers, we bring great news about Firearms: Source's distribution and publicity. We at Firearms: Source like to patch our game frequently, which should normally be a good thing. However, this means servers and clients have to keep making sure they have the latest version of Firearms: Source. How do we solve this? Steamworks! The next version of Firearms: Source will be released via Steam as Firearms: Source 2.0. We have so much new content and new features being packed into the next version of Firearms: Source, that it will once again feel like a whole new game. With Steam works, your clients will auto-update whenever we release a new build, and Steam will install the game for you. Also, expect some Steamworks features like Achievements and Player Stats. If that doesn't get you excited enough, check out some of our fresh media.

We give you the Sterling, an old SMG that was featured in the original Firearms on the GoldSrc engine. It only felt right to bring the Sterling back in action as it brings class to the battlefield and helps beef up our rather limited amount of Submachine Guns. One thing you will also notice about the Sterling is its spiffy integral suppressor that will be included if you choose the suppressor attachment. In an upcoming developer blog, I will discuss how attachments will be implemented, focusing on the game mechanics and balancing of attachments. I am sure one of our programmers will also make a post about our very interesting technical implementation, allowing us to future proof attachments so that we can keep adding to and diversifying our attachment list. Make sure you check up on our forums as we will also be releasing images throughout development.

Empire at War: Clone era expansion (0.1 alpha)
I can already see the comments section;
"Another clone wars mod?!?"
"Shutup, there's never enough clone wars mods"
"But that other clone wars mod is so great!"
etc. etc. etc.

It probably won't be that bad, but this clone wars mod has a bonus. It's all in some language that's no English. I think it's German, but my knowledge of foreign languages is limited to Huttese and Shyriiwook. I was only able to maneuver around the menus by memory, but I got to skirmish and galactic conquest and played through them a bit. The mod is well polished and plays as such. Hopefully an English update will made available so I can appear less ignorant.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas: GTA IV - Resident Evil IV MOD v1
Here is something for all of you that are Resident Evil fans or just want to kill zombies in a GTA based environment. This modification basically changes all of the people in the city into Zombies which will chase you all around the city! While this version does have a couple of bugs in the game, it is a brilliant mod although while it does have its good features including the massing of the zombies around the player, rather than eating the player they beat him up which isn't really zombie like but still it can be very difficult to do unless you have a machine gun or similar. That being said it adds a new gametype to GTA IV for those have completed the game several times.

After ~1 year of break I'm finally back to finish up the most advanced, stand-alone weather mod for SoC. Star Wars Battlefront 2: Marvel4's BF1 Conversion Pack
Marvel4 today releases an updated version of his conversion pack for SWBFII. The pack contains some side changes, all of Battlefront 1's maps as true to the originals as possible, and is overall a very straightforward compilation of conversions.

While it is sort of redundant to download this should you have the Conversion Pack, this has its advantages- it is smaller, more lightweight, and is easy to pick and choose exactly what you want installed. The conversions in this pack are very good, and they are very well polished. They feel very authentic to the originals. Give this a download if you enjoyed the past versions, as this includes all the latest versions of the conversions. If you're looking for just the converted maps and don't feel like downloading the Conversion Pack, then this is the download for you.

Here is a new Hardpoint file for the Wraith Hiveship by Dave975 and DKealt, this will add an organic armour which works in the same way as those of the ablative armour on Federation Ships which will protect the hull and the systems for as long as it is there. The shields are now fairly weak in that they will only designed to jam someone from beaming a nuke or torpedo on board the ship, although if you combine this with the MVAM Dart launching mod you will have an almost fully functional hive ship in the game.

Call of Duty 6: SS Panzer Grenadiers for WaW
This adds ss panzer grenadier models into the game. It took me a while to get it right, but their legs and arms should blow off like the stock models. Some guys might not have heads, I never quite figured that one out so your just going to have to deal with it for now. its a rare problem at least. The reason why noone can find xmodels in the iwds is because their compiled into fastfiles, .ff files.

Dawn of War: Soulstorm: Pdf Bunker Guard
This is a full race mod which uses existing models but in a way that gives a new
dynamic to the imperial guard race. The army is split between ground holding elements - bunkers, mines and heavy weapons teams, and scouting/ attack units - sentinels, command squad and commissars.

Most the structures and abilities involve the use of violent explosions to simulate snares and the chance of these explosions occuring is very high.
This means buildings should be placed with good spacing and wounded sentinels should be kept away from the base and the bases of your allies. There is a 100% chance that Sentinels will explode violently, including a 0.5% chance that Sentinels will explode catastrophically - on testing this is capable of wiping out the whole base if the sentinel is placed correctly!

You can customize your Sentinels with Autocannon, heavy flamer or multilaser. All sentinels can also use the Hunter Killer Missile ability, these can be krak (for vehicles and buildings) or frag (for large groups of enemy infantry).Your Guard units can detect infiltrators at extremely short distances, they must be almost touching. The use of the Commissar and Colonel's Detector Flares is paramount as these will detect nearby infiltrators.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City: New Vice City 2008
Here is a modification that will add several new items to Vice City, including a New Bus Station, close and open doors by using space bar or right click, the haitians are now in starfish island so that they will have more action and there are no bridge blockades. This modification also makes all of the missions available from the start and you can buy everything from the start. Also included is a new mansion on Starfish Island where there are weapons, bots and 2 top swats that can be bought for $10,000 as body guards.

In addition to the above features there are a lot more including the ability to call taxies, as well as the use of a mobile phone / cell phone additonal help or want a pizza!. The bus part of the route has been extended in that you will now be able to catch a bus between 3 bus stations in the game. There are a lot of features that this mod will give you in Vice City but I won't list them all, as they are all mentioned in the readme below and in the file.

Grand Theft Auto IV: Simple Native Trainer v6.2
Here is trainer for GTA IV that includes a lot of functions within the game itself. The menu will load up during the gameplay and show up as a menu where you can choose the functions. This trainer includes the normal usual ones such as the Infinite health, ammo, and no wanted levels as well as much more. There are also options to change the cars colours, as well as spawning bodyguards and spawning random car drivers (that will drive with you in the car if you are driving at the time!!).

Jedi Knight III: Mandolorians - 30 ABY
So, Mandalorian skins for the win. This one's by Hollywood G1. What do we got? Quite a huge assortment of Boba Fett reskins. Some of them are just "recolors," retaining the original design of Boba's armor, while a few others have a completely new helmet entirely.

Now the one thing I noticed about this pack was that there were duplicates of certain skins, just under different names. I'm not sure what the deal with this was, but it definitely seems like a waste to just reruns in your skinpack XD those could have been used for "no jetpack" versions, which would have definitely been a good addition to have, methinks.

Other than that, these skins are simply awesome. Each one seems to have to its own unique flare, and there's hardly a skin in here that isn't appealing in some fashion. Now, I noticed that you had a copy of the Clone Merek NPC file for some reason. I recommend having a little bit of clean up your package. It just clutters up the pk3 and adds superfluous size to the file. A shame.

Jedi Knight III: Ultimate Expanded Universe
Hollywood G1 returns with another installment of his expanded universe pack. This one in particular contains content from some of his previous submissions, and some new content that makes this mod worth the download. Enclosed are the Solo kidlets, Jaina and Jacen, Clone Merek, some content from his previous edition, and more.

And more? More like whut? Ya, thar's more. We got some mandalorian skins that replace the human mercenary playermodels/NPCs, some loading screens for your enjoyment, some backhand hilts created by HOUOU, and another red saber unlock mod for singleplayer. Oh, and additional music, I reckon.

Yeah, so there's plenty of stuff in this pack worth a peek. I really do like this Jacen Solo skin. Outift looks a lot like the outfits I've seen him in the pictures, but still hoping to see some creative face skinning soon. The human merc replacements methink shoulda been at least optional, as could the red saber and hilt additions. I noticed the hilts were sort of hastily compiled. There was an attempt at making the hilts both OVERRIDE two default hilts, but both hilts use the "Firebrand" menu name. There were non-backhand sabers included(I think?) but in .sab file only, so they're dud entries. Not smart :|

Star Wars Battlefront: Clone Trooper Menu Screen
JGPDOGLOVER is back today with another menu screen. This one appears to mainly use the cover art as a sort of mashup between the SWBF1 cover art and the SWBFII cover art.

To be completely honest, it's sort of hard to make anything out, and a majority of the pictures are really stretched out and look kind of bad. Perhaps trying to use images that fit would work a little better- this is, after all, a visual presentation entirely and it stands to reason that you should try to make it look as good as possible.

Regardless, if your launcher is looking a little boring, then feel free to give this a download.

This is the WaW's castle converted to Call of Duty 4, its almost exactly the same size and might I say it looks almost like Treyarch and IW devs have got together to sort this one out themselves.

It's a great map with lots of potential for another version to touch up on a few things. With this map supporting so many gametypes, if you're a server admin you should be jumping at the chance to contact the author (found in the readme) and asking him to if its okay to put up on your server, a truly great replica map!

Company of Heroes: Takin' the Top

About the file
This is the update for BlackCrow's Takin' the top, this version adds a few new textures, more balanced rescources, another bunker for the 4th starting position and a few more objects scattered around. (see reeadme for full changelog) The map is recommended for a harder AI as an easy AI will not pass certain points making the game somewhat... easier stick out tongue, (I'v had the same problem in my maps as well, its a pain and one that continues to happen unfortunatly)

Staff impression
Deffinatly an improvement from the first version, objects have been placed well and the forest and bridges provide deadly killzones. A couple more features have been added to keep the game intresting like the AA base near player 1 and the V1 base near player 4's starting position. Tanks in this map are going to suffer in the confines of the forests where mines and anti tank units rule, watch your flanks and hold your positions or risk being over-run early on in the game.

Some advice i could give would be to blend some of the textures together, use the feather tool with the paint, it gives a much more blended appearance and looks better than stark contrasts from one texture too another, also dont be afraid to change the main base texture, add some grass or mud around the forests to make it more realistic. Other than that great job.

Empire at War: close quarters combat
When I first saw the name of this map, I was expecting a map with long hallways and small rooms. But then I was greeted with a space map. I've said before that it is difficult to make a good space map because your options are limited. So sniper9191413 took a smaller more intense approach. This is probably the smallest space map I've ever seen. And it's got 4 star bases in it. The Empire and Rebel bases are too far apart to attack each other directly, but there are two pirate bases that are within range of both team bases.

The nebulae in the middle of the map don't help things for anyone. Each team starts with some corvette class units in the middle of it. So no shields and no time for strategies before the fighting starts. You also find your base under attack from the pirates. What a way to go.

Empire at War: Geonosis Areana-ruins
Although some creative liberties were taken with this one, it's fun and playable, even it's not accurate.

The good: Large map, Looks nice, Balanced and the Minimap is descriptive

The bad: The mountain steps don't quite look right on the screen. It's more like units are falling/jumping to different levels.
There are all sorts of variously indigenous creatures, although mostly Geonosians, you can also find Jawas, Bothans, and guys in winter parkas.

The ugly: A volcano in the middle. Seriously? Rancors? Seriously?

Really fun though. Once the locals are all taken care of, it's a big free for all with a lot of death before a winner is declared. Note: i will be modding for battlefront 1 soon This map is a medium sized map, It is the areana on geonosis. It has many different species that fight you in the areana. There is even a small volcano in the middle that will kill infantry if you get too close. This is my first map, and can be played online with up to 8 players. rebles vs empire

Empire at War: Suffering
So much time, so little to do... no wait, reverse that. This is a lot to do in this map. Whether it's securing resource pads, or fighting Wookies, you won't be left with any time to yourself. Team 1 has a slight advantage in a 3 team brawl. It is separated by mountain passes and Wookie tree homes. While teams 2 and 3 are left to themselves with more attainable resources. This is an Imperial base with a prison in the middle of it (those troops are hositle to everyone). But it's heavily guarded and there isn't anything worth the fight, unless you want to be a hero and rescue some prisoners.

Oh, and this map is large, with room for strategy. But don't take too long designing one or your opponent(s) will take care of you. This map plays on Kashyyyk, the homeplanet of the wookies. As you can see on the screenshots there's a crashed Venator cruiser and as usual on Kashyyyk an Imperial prison. The prison and it's Imperial guards are hostile to everyone. There's also a huge wall on the left bottom. Don't worry - the Imperials there won't attack you wink

Jedi Knight III: Tatooine Oasis CTF
How many of you like CTF? I know I like the occasional CTF, though I have to admit not having CTFed properly for a while now. Why do I ask? ...What, you hadn't figured it out yet? Today we have a CTF map, brought to us by TK-962. Bear in mind, this is his second map, and pretty good work for a second map in my opinion.

Layout - Here's my favorite bit about the map - the layout. It's definitely a very simple layout, but honestly, I figure it might lead to some interesting matches. Should, at the very least, be amusing if you're into CTF. Also, noticed a ship in there somewhere (screenshot #3), which, while I have to ask if it has any real use other than being fancy, is fancy. Yes, I'm a sucker for ship interiors, folks, even if prefabs stick out tongue

Textures - The choice of textures here seems fine. This brings me to my main gripe though - repetitive textures. You can see it perfectly in screenshot #3: the same pattern over and over and over and over again. I'd love to see a version with far less repetitive textures, TK. smile

Sins of a Solar Empire: Divided 2vs2 (1.1)
This map is resource-rich with several planets and belts to choose from. It is best played as a 2vs2, although free for all mode will work. I have personally named each planet to give this map a personal touch. This map consists of 1 star, which is divided by a small network of phase lanes. Uncolonizable planets are strategically placed to give players a hard time in defending their space, and an equally hard time getting past the armada which awaits at each bottleneck. In 2vs2 mode, teams should be set up before the map is launched, otherwise the teamed players may end up on opposite sides of the star system and it is very difficult to get from one side to the other. Two full size pirate bases linger around the star, with rich resources hidden behind these bases. Who will be the first to unite this star system? Or will pirates unleash their fury for complete control? May the best team win!

Star Wars Battlefront: Ranen: Platforms
Essentially, the map is very much like Bespin Platforms if it were on Kamino. It is set at nighttime and overall is a very dark map, with vehicles and modified sides duking it out high above the nonexistent ground. The map is well put together and has a nice feel to it, and it is plenty big enough for the vehicles that are flying around everywhere. While there is not a central area for fighting like Bespin Platforms, each side has their own central CP controlling access to all their others. You can fly around to the back and capture them that way, or go through the front door. It's well planned and symmetrical.

The map also features modified sides. They are essentially darker versions of the main GCW units, with the Empire in dark armor fighting against the Rebels with dark clothing and masks (looks like a stealth unit or something). It has a very modern feel to it. The weapons are also modified, with each side having new weapons and a special commander unit with powerful weapons. The grappling hook and disguise kit make an appearance too, which is pretty rare these days. The sides are pretty well balanced and there isn't really an "overpowered" feel to any of the units. Vehicles get a makeover too, with new skins and some weapon modifications to make them more like what they are supposed to be.

Team Fortress 2: CTF Dam (Beta v001d)
This a unique multi-flag CTF map, it takes place on a multi level dam. Only one flag per team is ever available for capture at a time. The first flag is located on the lowest level. Second flag & cap point is located further inside the base. The spawn rooms can be accessed from the top floor and the mid levels. You can go from the mid spawn room to the upper one via an air duct that will carry you up. (It will now automatically send you up, you no longer have to jump to go up). There are laser grid doors that are removed once the first flag is captured.

The lasers on spawn room doors will not kill you. There is a large drop off on the outside of the dam, falling off means you die and any flags will be reset if they land here. A split level animated skybox (trains in the background and a lovely surprise when you win), The town is one side red and the other is blue, when one team wins the losing sides town will burn. All of my stairs are clipped for smoothness some Area portals,a lot of hint + skips.

Team Fortress 2: KotH Flood (Beta 2)
At first glance, it seems just like any other small King of The Hill map. But it isn't. Because the water is rising. If the control point floods before a team could capture it and win, then it's a stalemate and you all are losers.

- Boundaries made larger!
- Cubemaps added!
- Most of community ideas applied!
- Spawn no longer campable. (mostly...)

# Current bugs and To Dos:
- Textures still not finished.
- Spawn rooms not done.
- There may be a very minor leak.

Warcraft 3: Return of the Legends
got this idea when I was thinking on how I could remake my current map (found Here) while I thought about Orc Gladiators. So this map contains elements and ideas from both of them. The current idea go as following:

1) There will be 2 teams and 1 arena. The teams will have a base on each side of the arena and there will be a barrier in the middle of the arena so the teams will be divided. This will be a custom hero map so it starts off with the players choosing their hero and his skills (3 normal 1 ulti). When they all have choosen heroes they will get teleported to their base.

2) The game will be based on rounds. For 3 rounds you will face creeps (like in orc gladiators). If you kill all creeps you have finished that round. However if you all get killed and creeps survive you will loose lifes equal to the amount of creeps alive. Each team starts with 30 lifes.

Bridge Commander: MoS's NX91001 + two other variants
Here is the NX91001 as well as two similar variants of the same ship. It is a similar ship to that as seen in Star Trek Online although it has an improved design with better textures and it looks a lot better when compared to the other version in STO. The three different ships are for the most part the same design although there is one without the bar at the back, another one with the bar between the nacelles and a third version with the bar between the nacelles as well as a third warp nacelle. The ships themselves look good in the game, and perfect for those that want more ships based upon those seen in Star Trek Online in Bridge Commander!

Bridge Commander: MoS presents the TMP/TNG refit Miranda
Here is a refitted version of the TMP era Miranda, although for the most part its the same as the original design although it has been refitted with Improved TNG Warp engines (with a red glow similar to those of the TNG era), as well as improved weapons which can take on an Ambassador Class starship or even a Romulan Warbird, although personally I think that either would be a little too powerful even for a light cruiser from the TNG era but then you could say "revenge of the cannon fodder?".

Overall the ship has been well made, although the only nitpick would be the lack of a registry on the front (although it could equally be a Section 31 ship) and the hardpoint being a little overpowered but still it can be a lot of fun in the game.

Empire at War: Leviathan interdictor redone.
I thought that the leviathan wasn't yet as fantastic as it could be, so I reskinned it, it now has a more metal look, and included new engine particles. These all can be used without permission any way you like, but please give proper credit. This is my first "from scrap" reskin so please give me feetback on what you think can be improved. I included everything you need to get it all working.

Empire at War: Mandalorian Cruiser Reskin
This adds a nice texture to the Mando Cruiser. It give it more realistic look. Even though sometimes it hard to notice in the heat of a battle. This was somewhat of a quick reskin of Warb_Null's Mandalorian Cruiser, but I did spend enough time to create a skin that should be on the same caliber of my previous one. Any comments are welcome. The lighting reskin does need some work, so I'm going to add that too in my next release. For those who want a "cleaner" and newer look for a reskin, I'm probably going to add that too along with the aged "dirty" reskin in my next release. Any more details I have in the readme.

Empire at War: ZOMBIE SKINS
My vegetarian roommate became a zombie about a year ago. People ask me if I'm worried about him attacking me, but all he does is lurch around the halls moaning GRAINS! GRAINS!

Now that I got that out of the way, zombie Wookies is a truly frightening prospect. Zombie Mon-Cal cruisers is also frightening. I'm having trouble wrapping my head around zombie Ewoks. Even though we all know what they are capable of in large numbers. This is a file containing the zombie skins for the 3 ewok variants, the jawa, the Fish-head(better known as the mon-cal), and the Wookiee. Each is quite gruesome, it's kinda hard to picture fluffy, little ewoks as the brain-eating undead.

Half-Life: Runescape Godsword for crowbar (v1.0)
This model is a replacement for the crowbar in Half-Life1 (and other mods). The only thing that has been changed in the v_ model are HD hands and a Godsword instead of a crowbar. The p_ and w_ models are HD.

If there is going to be a second version of this model there will be new emotes to make it feel more like a Runescape Godsword.

Jedi Knight III: Darth Revan
It was recently revealed that Star Wars: The Old Republic will provide some answers to one of the greatest mysteries in the Star Wars Expanded Universe; what happened to Darth Revan? It was revealed in KotOR 2 that he journeyed into unknown space in search of the 'true Sith'. Ad up till now that was all we knew. Maybe more of that story would have been explored in KotOR 3, but that was scrapped shortly after pre production began. Hopefully now we will have some answers from the masterful story tellers at Bioware!

Anyways, until then we have a Darth Revan model to sate your appetite! Made by Almighty_gir, this is an excellent piece of work. The modelling details on the belt with that large metal ring especially look good. Incidentally this is also the area that changes colour for the team skins. To be honest I probably would have simply recoloured all the red sections of the default skin for the team skins, but this way is nicely subtle. Though the blue belt ring does kinda clash with the red parts of the robes on the blue team skin.

The one thing that I definitely think needs some improvement though is the cloak, since it looks very flat texture wise. Some more creases or folds in the fabric would improve it I think. Other than that a very good skin and model here, though some custom sounds would be nice. Yes I know, apart from the odd sentence the player says in KotOR like “ugh, I’ve been poisoned” Revan doesn’t have any voice overs, but I’m sure you could find some menacing sounding taunts somewhere that would pass for Darth Revan. wink

Jedi Knight III: Erza Scarlet
I only had to take one look at this character, and it was plain obvious it came from japanese media. The large flame pants, the skimpy top, cheek scar, it just was telegraphed way too soon. This is apparently a character from a series known as Fairy Tail. Never heard of it, don't plan on it, but I did at least look up the character on google images to see if I could get a reference pic. Sure enough, I did find a picture that matched the features on this skin, and given the circumstances, Jan was not a bad choice to reskin.

Now the first thing I noticed on this character was just how grouchy she looks. Even when she was smiling in this pictures her heavyset brow just looked more fit for a scowl. This skin has definitely captured the essence of that scowl. I could see that grouchy piercing stare on her face all too easily, which I reckon is a good thing for likeness.

The torso looks to have used a very familiar skin texture as a base. The top(I'm sure some brainiac will give the proper term in the comments,) looks rather primitive, and looks like it was just pasted over the existing texture, but scarily enough...it works. However, lot of work that needs to be done on the torso. This Erza lady looks like she got into a fight with a cat in that picture I saw, so she needed plenty more scratches and scars on her upper body, like crazy. I also noticed she has some kind of tattoo on her outer bicep, so definitely don't forget that.

Jedi Knight III: Hirman's Darth Bane
In other news, I was surprised to find that there is currently only a single Darth Bane skin this entire site. All of that has just changed though - Hirman brings us Darth Bane.
For those of us who have no idea who he is (or presumably, like me, never played KotOR read any Star Wars comics/novels), Wookieepedia has an article on the Sith in question right here. He's basically the guy who invented the Rule of Two.

Regardless, this Darth Bane really isn't bad at all - I personally prefer the way it looks over the other one I linked to. It also comes with sounds, NPCs, bots & more.
To me, it seems pretty accurate to the pictures of Bane I could find, and the skin & model are both of good quality. In fact, my only real gripe (aside from how teamskins really would be nice in a later version wink), is clipping. Unfortunately, with the kind of clothes Bane is wearing, clipping is inevitable. I did notice several spots (arms, cloak, etc) where it might be fixable though, but I'm no expert.

Knights of the Old Republic II: VPs HandSister Fix
VPcombat returns with another modification for the second Knights of the Old Republic game, this time with another fix of an annoying bug within the game. Have you ever noticed how despite the PC saying the Handmaiden looks different from her sisters they all look alike? Well this modification is for you if you have wanted to see this inconsistency fixed. Be sure to check out the screenshots to see the subtle differences between the heads. All in all this modification is upto the modder usual high standards and comes highly recommended.

Knights of the Old Republic II: VP's Kreia Green Fix
VPcombat also known as Varsity Puppet, as a extremely well put togeather modification for us today for the second Knights of the Old Republic game. Although this mod has been done previously by Captain Hair this mod improves upon that particular modders works, in that VP has removed the seams and also made his modification compatible with the hugely popular TSLRCM.

All in all this is an very good modification which removes the annoying green taint bug present on Kreia, while also removing the hard seems which are also on the model. It would seem to this particular reviewer that this would be an essential modification for those who have an eye for detail, while it fixes an annoyance many of you may well have noticed. Be sure to check out the screenshot to see the differences between the original and new models.

Star Trek: Legacy: Olympic Class
Whoo, after a very long time without ANYTHING going on we finally get a new ship and what a beauty it is!

The Olympic-class featured a primary section-engineering section-warp nacelle layout common to most Starfleet vessels, however, unlike most Starfleet vessels, the Olympic-class featured a spherical primary hull, similar in outward appearance to the 22nd century Daedalus-class. Its deflector dish was incorporated into the lower forward quarter of the primary hull, its impulse engines were located on the upper third of the aft hull. A large shuttlebay was located on the middle upper dorsal section of the secondary hull.

In an alternate future timeline, the Olympic-class was equipped with sensors and defensive systems that were very limited, leaving the ship to be no match for the shields of the Klingon attack cruisers of that era. In addition, it was capable of at least warp 13. That said, the Olympic class always was some kind of oddball indeed, but I liked it and "wagaugusto" has really done it justice! On top of that you can never have enough Fed ships, now can you? ^_^ Download now to go out there and rescue some survivers. wink

Yeah, it's actually been really fun, I've played it on Steam for 2 hours since the moment it unlocked, much better than CoD and BF: BC2.

And The Sacrifice trailer for L4D/2 is amazing. big grin
