Welcome to all for the second version of the Filefront Network Update - Files Section . This replaces the old unpopular insider and now comes as two parts which aren't as long as the former insider. Hopefully this will look better than the previous version!. The Files part of the Weekly update includes the latest Files that has been posted on the Network Sites over the past week as well as some of the latest files from the Filefront Main Site, although in this case there is news from the past two weeks. There have been a few modifications, mini-mods, skins as well as a lot of maps covering a few of the sites.

This week however there were four new large modifications including a Hirogen Full Race Mod for Star Trek Armada 2, an Alliance Mod for Empire at War Forces of Corruption as well as F.E.A.R. Resurrection and Clear Sky reloaded for Stalker. There have been a fair few map files from all of the network as well as new Hyundai cars for GTA San Andreas, and much more all of which can be found below!

This time I have included the latest Demos that have been added on to the main filefront servers, although a little disappointed at the lack of any good demos this month unfortunately although there are demos for Football Manager 2011 (which most of you probably have already!) and a few more!

Armada 2: Hirogen Full Race
Unexpected. That's the first thought that came to mind when I saw a Full race mod sitting in the files que. Full race mods can usually be seen coming a very long way off by breadcrumb trails of screenshots, teasers and ships leading up to a full release. This had little to cause any expectations of it being released. True, there were some screenshots released... But that was in 2008. Avon says that he started this off when he was "laid up in bed ill" back then, and after tinkering with it occasionally he recently decided to finish it off and release it.

So, what do we have? Well, you've got the obligatory full set of ships and stations required to call this a race mod. The Hirogen like capturing things, and boy do they have a setup well suited to doing that. I suppose I shouldn't really spoil it, but the Hirogen have a special weapons outfit for capturing that puts the Klingons and the Borg combined to shame without being massively overpowered. They do balance in with the other stock races reasonably well. Also, thanks to the fact that some of the heavy warships that your likely to have with you in a battle are equipped with the tractor beam you actually do stand some prospect of keeping prizes taken from the enemy.

Empire at War: Light Alliance 2.4X
Star Wars Empire at War – Forces of Corruption - Alliance 2.4X Light por Nomada_Firefox

Alliance mod was initialy a Spanish mod, next it was translated to other languages like English and German. It is a “small” versión from the mod with units from Episode IV and Episode VI. This version uses only planets and GC from the original game with a new galaxy map. Really it is not a full versión without many things, it was made like a different mod with things from the complete mod. By it, you can see many things different. I would like remember you these new small things:

-Underworld side is now the Black Sun.
-There are space construction vehicles for all the sides, they build different plattforms only on galactic conflict. They are deployed by the main starbases.
-There are new and different galactic fleet icons for the Executor, Empire probe, Rebel transports, Empire transports and Black Sun transports.
-There are different spacestructures like the shipyards, factories, a space asteroid mine, defense plattforms like the golans and one hypergun space plattform.
-All sides have a MDU vehicle with a few new special plattforms.
-There are many new skins for all the units, buildings and more, they are many better, specially the skins from original things. All them were modded by Burnstrobe.
-Corruption big effects have been deleted, it should make faster the game with Black Sun side.
-There are thousands of new particle graphics and small models like proyectiles.
-Many more changes, you will need play if you want see them.

More Empire at War: FileFront's Empire at War Files

F.E.A.R.: F.E.A.R. Resurrection. Interval 1 & 2 (1.0)
New Release! The first two levels are available for download! This release includes two storyline linked singleplayer maps - REVIVAL and EXTERMINATION.

1. Run the "F.E.A.R. Resurrection.exe" and install the mod into your FEAR install directory (default is Cstick out tonguerogram FilesSierraFEAR). This will need to be edited if FEAR isn't in the default location.
2. Run "F.E.A.R. Resurrection" appears on the desktop (or from the quick start menu).
3. Start a single player game and pick your difficulty setting*.
* You must update F.E.A.R. to 1.08 or this mod will not work.

Stalker: Clear Sky Reloaded
Inspired by the experience offered by mods like LURK and Complete 2009, Stalker CS Reloaded aims to provide Clear sky as it should be, all, whether the field of graphics, optimization, and the gameplay has been designed to offer the definitive Hardcore experience of STALKER Clear Sky, the mod is progressing rapidly and with your feedback and comments I hope to soon offer a version 1.0 reference!

The main change is the latest work so much on the gameplay with a complete overhaul of all aspects of the game to improve gameplay and make changes at depths on the ballistic, the economy, the war of factions. First mod was balanced to provide a scalable game experience may be suitable for all players seeking a Part optimized only to those who want a complete overhaul of the gaming experience.
To maximize the potential of the engine, the great weather system developed by Artistpavel is integrated into the mod and is enhanced with many new textures and improved contrast ratio. Everything is optimized to avoid drop FPS in-game. The shaders have been reworked from work Float32 Gosuke to correct errors and optimize graphics performance. Some malfunctioning effects on DX10 were reintroduced.

Changes of texture were the main objective of the mod. Absolutely all the textures have been reworked from the best work of the community and adding many new HD textures.
The mod therefore includes more than 2,500 new textures in very high quality and with a maximum resolution to increase the size of some perfomances textures has been reduced while reworking their looks to gain fluency and quality. The textures of the weapons have also been completely redone to emphasize the "damaged" aspect while making them more true to real life models. Bridge Commander: Warbird Bridge
Romulan Warbird bridge as seen in the DS9 episode 'The Die Is Cast', based on 3rd Era's Nebula bridge. Crew positions and animations should be the same as the Nebula (nebulabridgev3), so there should not be any problems as long you have it installed. I've removed the two extra walk-on crew from rear of bridge as surplus to requirement. Brex and Miguel have new standing animations (included) but no animated turns.

The bridge features animated LCARs and red alert switching (BP Core).

Dawn of War: DOW2 Chaos Rising Reincarnate 2.5.0
Announcing the development of a new mod called Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising - Reincarnate. The idea behind this mod is to create a DoW 2 experience which is closer to the fluff of the Warhammer world while still maintaining a balanced and enjoyable game to play. Now before people come to conclusions that this will be a closer to codex mod, sorry to say no, the reasons for this are:

Dow 2: codex edition already sets out to achieve this(which you should go and give a go, very good mod) I play the table top game myself (well used to) and just feel like there isn't really a mod or game out there which really captures the true fluff behind the game, like a space marines charging into a group of 10 enemies and coming out on top. To truly capture the tabletop game I would have to greatly increase the amount of units in the game, which is fine for people with great computers but some peoples PC's just won't cope, and I want to create a mod everyone can enjoy fully.

Jedi Knight III: Jaden Sounds & NPC
That's it? Nothing else? Maaajor let down, even though one can't blame Ravensoft for that oversight. So, Jedi_HM2 has made something that surprisingly -- at least to my knowledge -- no one else has done. Jaden now has a full set of taunts, gloats, flourishes, combat sounds, the whole ensemble that a Jaden NPC would need. It was so refreshing to hear Jaden say something else for once..and the scary part is, the taunts were actually pretty good choices, for pretty much every set of sounds called. However, there's two caveats here:

1.) Only supports English Jaden Male: A'right, I understand you probably weren't thinking about international support, but I'm sure you could have at least reciprocated the same choices for Jaden female, right? Definitely consider at least doing that, so all the lady/digital tranny players can enjoy the fruits of your labors.
2.) Bit overzealous of sounds: Usually 1 to 3 audio clips is enough, but looks like you went a bit overboard. Some of these have 1 to 5 clips, and the victory taunts have 10 sounds. Y'think you have enough, chief? XD

Other than that, a very smart project. Included as well(as stated in the title,) is a small .npc file that grants you a Jaden companion NPC that you can use in your adventures. Pretty powerful, but not completely out of whack. Not a bad job, HM2. Lookin' forward to see what other projects you have in store! So, what's gone on since then? Female Jaden was supported. It's just english, uses the same sound choices, but still, it's +1 female. Next? Jaden Female NPC. Woop woop. Finally, Kyle and Luke now have more sounds to accompany their soundsets, some of which are actually from JK2. Mighta been worth making those their own separate unit, but hey, still a good job on making Jaden less repetitive.

Knights of the Old Republic II: Kill The Ithorian 1.1.zip
This is an updated version of the Kill the Ithorian Mod. Posted with Stream's permission. On Telos, there is a caged Ithorian in the Exchange office, mistreated and unfed. Originally, after dealing with the local crimeboss, you could free the prisoner, or leave him in the cage. This had no impact on anything, such as your Light/Dark alignment, and there was no XP reward.

This mod gives you an Experience + Lightside Points reward if you free him. Moreover, it offers an option to overload the cage and kill the flatworm, for Experience + Darkside Points.Version 1.1 is essentially the same, but with bugs fixed:
- the infinite rewards exploit
- the computer skill check not working.

Knights of the Old Republic II: Nar Shaddaa Hidden Complex Mod: Improved!
An update to the Nar Shaddaa Hidden Complex: Improved. This fixes some bugs, fixes a broken Boolean in Vogga's dialogue (not fixed by the 1.0b patch), and fixes some problems in the dialogue files (remove orphaned entries, fixed grammar issues).

NOTE: if you have this version, do NOT install the Dialogue Patch. A better version of the patch is included in this version.

Star Trek: Legacy: Star Trek Legacy (Fan Patch) 1.3 November update - 4th Issue
This patch generally focus on graphic and little on game play. However 'little' on game play may have positive impact on the game--mildly.

Such features include Increased gamma bias, Edited Quantum torpedos, Fixed Klingon TOS torpedo textures, New ENT Romulan torpedo textures, Fix thickness of phasers, Additional sprite textures, Additional light colour to sprite textures, Decreased Borg systems, Decreased scout ship system speeds, Fixed TNG-TOS late refit ships, A working Strider-class, Attract Mode movie appears, New tool tip Variant ships, Playable Daedalus. Fixed Scout class properties, Fixed hero ships and Two new maps.

The mod adds more features, making the game playable, but only to Zubes tastes. This might not be others cups of tea compared to the likes of UU or TB. There are still many compromises in the mod, as Zube has stated in the readme.

Armada 2: Federation mothership
This mod will give you a giant saucer (same as separated galaxy class saucer just better) that can lead the fleet to battle and can build support ships if needed (repair, akira, defiant, intrepid, steamrunner, iwo jima, sabre, constuction ship and ventures for scouting ahead). Its equipped with strong phasers and a corbomite reflector witch makes this ship godlike. (sorry if my english is bad)

Armada 2: Merced class light cruiser
The Merced class is one of those ships that have been mentioned, but never shown on screen. There are several non-canon designs, and this is my own personal take on this ship. I decided to combine two of the most elegant Starfleet ships, the Excelsior and the Miranda class (using excellent meshes/textures by P81 of both ships) into something that would be an Excelsior-style successor to the Miranda class.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas: Hyundai Getz
Here is the Hyundai Getz, a detailed and well made small car that will either replace the club or any other similar car of your choice within GTA San Andreas. The car also includes a highly detailed interior (with a detailed engine, buttons and a lot more), a custom handling, although no custom colours although you can easily make up your own and a detailed damage model. This car looks very accurate when compared to the real life version of the car and also looks fairly good in the game itself!

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas: HyundaiH - 100 / Porter
Here is the Hyundai H 100, a well made pickup truck that will replace the yosamite or any other similar cars of your choice in the game. This truck also includes a highly detailed interior as well as a choice of several different colours that you can find in the game, a custom handling as well as much more. Generally the car has been well made although while not perfect it still looks fairly good in the game, there are parts which could do with some improvement (the front), while there are others which look brilliant (the interior and the back).

Halo: Elite Negative Skin
Iceelite normally supplies me with Covenant versions of campaign maps, which I mostly love. This is the first time I have ever received a character skin from him. Anyone who knows me, knows that I have little experience with skins, but I do try. What we have here, is an Elite, with what I can only speculate would be random spots of silver/white armour. There isn't really a lot more that can be described about this mod. It doesn't make your Elite or enemy Elites stronger or anything like that, but it is always nice to have a change. You need HMT v3.5 to install this mod.

Jedi Knight III: Improved Dark Rosh

I'm still not sure about calling Rosh credible, but I think I actually like this skin.
This is, basically, Rosh wearing clothes similar to those worn by a new Reborn, with also some facial changes. It doesn't overwrite the old Rosh, just for the record stick out tongue

The clothes
Rosh is now basically wearing a combination between his old clothes and those of a new Reborn. The clothes actually seem used too - several mild cracks are visible. I have to say, I actually rather like the clothes, including the ones on the team skins (screenshot #3).

The face
Personal rant: being pale and looking sleep-deprived does not make one evil. I'm a perfect example - I'm sleep deprived, but it's not like I killed anyone recently ate any babies recently am all that evil. Wookieepedia & George Lucas, however, disagree, so back to Star Trek for me.
Seriously though, as visible on the bottom of screenshot #2, rosh also looks paler, sleep deprived and more Sith-y. Is that desaturation I smell? wink
I personally preferred the old face, but can see how this one works too. Matter of preference there I guess.

Jedi Knight III: stormtrooper black reskin
Thank you, oh almighty jedi_hm2, for not putting 'the game' in there as requirement. Thanks to you, I didn't lose the-- DAMN YOU Ladies, gentlemen and variations thereupon, today we have Jedi Academy in black and white. Simply put: It's a black reskin of the stormtrooper model. The red and blue team colors are replaced with dark grey colors

A black trooper, with two vaguely different shades of grey for team colors. Not the most shining example of originality and skill, but hey, atleast it isn't a greyscaled Teletubby or something.
...Wow, now there's an idea. A Teletubby model. That's really pretty much all one can say about this - you'll know if you want it.

Medal of Honor: Death_Adder_Black_Mamba
These will be my last two mods. The Colt45 becomes the Colt Death Adder, a full automatic combination machine pistol and shotgun. Each shot fired equals ten shots hit. The Silenced Hi Standard becomes the Thompson Black Mamba, a silenced full automatic combination machine pistol and shotgun that also fires 10 to one. The magnification on black mamba has been increased even higher however the muzzle flash and smoke make it difficult to see for more than a few shots.

WARNING: These weapons may reduce your FPS (frames per second) and may cause max entitie errors in your game. Use them at your own risk. You will find the Black Mamba with your SMG weapons 3 on your keyboard. And the Death Adder with your MG's 4 on your keyboard. Both weapons have had the HUD Ammo bar removed because they do not require reloading. This effects the normal BAR and the Thompson SMG as well.

Star Trek: Legacy: Ferengi Marauder - D'Kora Class

Rudianos brings the Ferengi D'Kora class, seen in various episodes of trek, most notably in the TNG episode "Peak Performance". This mod is a welcome addition to legacy. Featuring sprites for the disruptor canons the D'Kora certainly does look the part in battle. Which brings me neatly to its battle capabilities. Given its size it does well against larger vessels, including the Federation Galaxy class, one on one expect to inflict considerable damage against destroyers and escort vessels alike. It is a well balanced mod, but take backup if you want to try your luck if you want to go up against something bigger.

This is an update to the Ferengi D'Kora released by Rudianos.

Battlefield 2: Tunisia
This is an edited and improved/expanded version of Sunset in Tunisia, which was based on the MOHAABT map, Tunisia. Changes, changed sky settings to dusk, and added some more areas to make the gameplay area larger, so the map isn't one rather large choke point. Got rid of the tunnels, in favor of above ground paths.

Company of Heroes: DimiMap2
About the File
This is a small map, featuring a pair of rivers and four bridges spanning them. This means that warfare will consist primarily of attrition battles, as that's really the only way to fight a bridge map. The light urban areas around the rivers will produce some interesting tank-infantry hybrid battles, as infantry wil have plenty of cover, while tanks will have some space to maneuver in.

Staff Impressions
Not badly done, by any means. Bridge maps always make for some interesting battles, especially when there are some urban areas to fight in as well. Graphically, this map is about halfway there, with some good object placement, but still needing some additional textures and splines to bring it to life. The rain and lighting do add a nice touch, though.

Company of Heroes: Forest Battle
About the file
This map is set in a fictional forest. In the center of it you will find what looks like a military camp or possible supply base, surrounded by lots of trees. The map is crossed by a single pathway with enough room for tank battles.

Staff Impression
It appears obvious this map is the work from a newbie mapper. Lack of texture and height differences as well as the same kinds of trees all over make it look quite plain - on first look. On second look though, this map is rather fun to play in Multiplayer, you will face the greatest heat of the battle inside the rather open base area. This map is a definate start into the right direction.

Dawn of War: Wrath of the Blood Ravens
This is my compiler mod in which I try to make Dawn of war 2 to resemble the background information and lore given about the races of Warhammer 40.000, especially the space marines, who are now on their "movie marine" power-level as described in their books. The mod features larger armies, more destructive weapons, new units like Imperial Chaplains, Vanguard and Sternguard Veterans, OrkFlash Gitz, Chaos Terminators and some rewoerked units like Alpha warriors and Carnifexes.

A lot of existing units had been also changed. I also tried to make the game more like DoW1 was used to:
-weapon firing arcs are set to 360 degrees
-population and squad sizes are bigger
-teardown times are taken out completely, and setup times are shortened
-No more upkeep

I'm glad to see that this is a first map. This map suffers from some of the problems that first maps do. No starting infantry, no texturing, edge of map is the esge of the world... However, this author also has managed to utilize many of the features that make a good map. Object placement is well done and fits with the current layout. The mountains look good and general use of the height tool is noticeable.Considering some of the map submission we've been seeing recently, this is a nice reprieve. Give some constructive feedback in the comments so we can get more good stuff.

Utapau: Utapau was an arid sinkhole world in the Utapau system of the Tarabba Sector in the Outer Rim Territories. Homeworld to the Pau'ans and the Utai, more commonly referred to as "Utapauns".
Utapau Sinkhole - An Imperial Mining Facility/Slave Yard. After the destruction of General Grievous during the Clone Wars, the Galactic Empire enslaved the inhabitants of this sinkhole and now having a mining operation up and running.
Mon Calamari: Mon Calamari, or simply "Dac" by the locals, is a planet in the Calamari System of the Calamari Sector, located in the Outer Rim Territories. Mon Calamari was home to the Quarren and the Mon Calamari.
Barrier Reef - A Mon Calamari shipyard has been constructed around a barrier reef. Whoever takes the shipyard will have a slight advantage.
Ord Cestus: Ord Cestus, also known simply as Cestus, was a planet home to the native species, the "X'ting". The planet's terrain was mainly an arid, red desert with many mountain ranges, such as the Dashta Mountains. Dashta Mountains - With only one route to your enemy, this will be a hard fight. Control the hill and you will dominate. Mountain base has extra defenses, while the lower base has a shield generator.


Geonosis: Capital Ships and Frigates will have a harder time in this map, asteroids are everywhere. Guide your fleets through the belt to take down your enemy!
Mon Calamari: A large nebula cuts off both bases, will you risk flying through the nebula, or will you take the longer, safer way around it?

Halo: Better BloodGulch
So here we have another Blood Gulch with modded weapons. It is getting incresingly difficult to write up good descriptions for mods based in Blood Gulch. Like yesterdays file, a few of the weapons have been modded to use different, or stronger types of ammo. Have a look in the readme file for everything that has been changed. There is a redeeming quality in this version though. The pistol now fires Spartans. So, if you are ever in an empty server and no-one is joining, you can simply "fire a friend, lol"

Halo: Flood Campaign - Stop the Key from Turning
Well, when I saw this in the validation queue I had a thought (Oh, another level mod. Okay then) I then noticed it said "Flood" in the title. My immediate action was to install this, and not tell anyone about it ever. Horde it for myself. But I figured I would let you guys try it out aswell since I am only one person. Anyway, have you ever wanted to play as a Flood form. Well, now you can (in one mission, which was a beta version, lol).

You need to load up Dev mode in Halo Custom Edition in order to play this map as it isn't a mod for the full game. If you do not know how to do that, then a very handy video tutorial will show you.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DN-JcnmSv9A. It plays pretty much the same as the default "Two Betrayals" mission (level 8), with the exception of new models for the Elites and maybe a few others. I didn't get a good enough inspection of them. Anyway, being a beta, there are a couple of errors that I noticed, like the radar not being on screen properly, or getting stuck in the cave and having to bunny hop out to get to the area with the Wraiths and Covenant turrets.

Halo: Halo ce Bumper cars
Who here doesn't love fairground bumper cars? The freedom to sneek in a quick head on collision with another bumper car when the ride attendant isn't watching. It the only way you are allowed to legally crash cars, aside from demolition derbys (you need a drivers lisence for that, lol). So what we have here is basically bumper warthogs.

The idea is the same as normal bumper cars like I described above. It's just meant to be good fun. The arena felt a little too big though to me. That's the only criticism I have with this map. Apparently, there is also a secret room. I have no idea on where it is or how to find it. And in the offchance that you need to do a machinima scene with the Spartan model with his arms at his sides, this map then does that.

Halo: Hunter_Wars 2- Meta Tag Mod (v2)
"Be vewy, vewy quiet. I'm hunting Hunters. Huhahaha!"

You remember how annoying Hunters were in all the Halo games right? Well, now it's time to get your own back. This map starts off innocently enough with a few Jackels, Elites, Grunts and Hunters wondering around Blood Gulch. As soon as you get close though, the Elites and Jackels are then on the receiving end of sniper rounds raining down from the heavens. The Elites never stood a chance.

Now the real fun begins. A bit of advice. Don't point the pistol towards the ground and then fire, unless you want to try and fly higher than Superman, lol. Most of the weapons have received a powerful kick in the pants. And it is just so satisfying watching Hunters go flying after using the sniper to fire needles into their heads.

Jedi Knight II: JK2 Multiplayer Maps
Well now, this is a somewhat odd situation I find myself in! This here map is the first of a couple of maps made for the Shadow Knights clan. 'But what is odd about that?' I hear you say. Well I just happen to be in the Shadow Knights clan, only... not this Shadow Knights clan! It looks like the old timer clan I am in isn’t the only SK clan around any more, though I have to say our SK being 15 years old, was here first. Muahaha! stick out tongue

Clan pride aside, I personally think this is an excellent map! It is based off of the 'Lockdown' map from Republic Commando, and considering this is for JK2 I think the author has done an excellent job of recreating a map from a game which is both newer and has significantly better graphical capabilities than good old JK2. I very much enjoyed Republic Commando, despite the fact that it was very short and I remember the Lockdown level well, thus I can say that this is a very accurate reproduction of that level. The architecture is well done (the railings look great and are a nice touch of detail) and the texturing is also excellent considering that mostly JK2 Base textures have been used. This map would be perfect for CTF games, since it has one side for the red team and one side for the blue team, with a central battleground in the middle, as you would expect of a traditional CTF or Team FFA map.

Jedi Knight III: Imperial Outpost Duel

The layout here is fairly straightforward, to the point where I'd say your best bet is just clicking screenshot #3. It's simple, easy on FPS and works for duels, though I figure it might get boring after a while.

Normally, I'd say this room isn't very exciting. I fell in love with the way the glass roof was done though; the view on the forest-like outside really does add something, without making my Stone Age computer overheat. That and the view behind the table. (middle-left-y, screenshot #3).

Suggestions, glitches, etc
Now, there are two points of criticism I have here. First off, there's a missing texture. Whilst not too disrupting, you'll notice the completely out-of-place black and white squares of textureless doom near the red consoles in the middle of screenshot #2. The area around the table is blocked! The moment you walk up the two steps onto that area (screenshot #3 again), you get blocked by an invisible wall, and it annoys me frown
What I'd love to see is that area being just as accessible as the rest of the map, since it doesn't look like you can't get into it or anything.

Jedi Knight III: JK2 Multiplayer Maps
Alright, so I think this file explains itself just through the title: JK2's MP maps converted into JK3, textures included. However, as to be expected, this is a direct port so certain things will not function. This includes:

- Door opening sounds
- The NS Hideout Trap doors do not open immediately(y'gotta back up afterwards and then they'll open.)
- Some lifts may take some time to work.

Other than that, the music is included, the traps on the FFA_Deathstar are fully functional, bot routes are intact, and textures are there. *poof*

Star Wars Battlefront 2: Naboo: Heart of Theed
This map, by Jerbot77, is precisely the mental picture the title would draw in your head; that is to say that it looks pretty much like any given Theed map you've already seen. Not to say that it is bad, but it isn't terribly original. "Heart of Theed" is pretty straightforward - it's a lot like the stock Theed (which will always follow the practice of using all-stock assets), although it may be slightly larger. It uses a stock Yavin sky, which is a bummer. It's decently put-together, but it's just kinda bland.

There is also a Naboo Guards side that supports the "good guy" team (REP/ALL), which is a pretty unbalanced swing in their favor - the guards spawn all over the map, independent of who owns what command posts, and they can capture CPs for their allied team. This makes it significantly harder for their enemies to maintain control of CPs. In any case, you can probably make a reasonable assessment yourself from the screenshots below. Download if it looks interesting.

Star Wars Battlefront 2: Rhen Var: Colony
The map itself is a Bespin-Naboo pastiche set on Rhen Var (which of course prompts the sky and terrain). Very little is changed in the way of the original assets, which makes for a pretty incongruous feel (seeing things like verdant planters on top of icy terrain is odd) - it would have worked out much better, stylistically, if the textures on the buildings had been a little different.

The map itself is decent. It's far too large, which is a bit of a knock against it, since so much of its space is "dead" space - empty, open, running-around space. However, I do applaud the work done to fill out a map of this size. I didn't see a whole lot in the way of real mapping errors, which - considering the map size - is a pretty laudable accomplishment. There are a few errors, as mentioned below, but I didn't really come across anything that was game-breaking.

Star Wars Battlefront 2: Talus: Hillside
The map itself looks pretty good. Hilly maps are very much par for the course in user-created Battlefront II maps, because of the simplicity of the terrain editor, but one thing that is almost always done poorly with the terrain editor is steep hills. I like what the author has done here in using lots and lots of stacked stock rock props (say that ten times fast!) to create an effective set of hills and cliffs. One of my favorite stock assets (the Tatooine mushroom rock - and yes, I know it's weird to have favorite assets) is used in excess here, and it's a good example of what creative use of stock props can yield.

The map also has its own campaign, which is a nice break from the norm - I've said it before and I'll say it again; a mod map with a campaign is a huge leap over just a regular mod map in terms of how enjoyable I find it. The campaign is set in the CW era, and while it is short and relatively simple, it does have a bit of variability with some randomly-chosen objectives. In addition to the above, it's always nice to see support for extra community content, which this map has. You can see in the screenshots below that it's a nice-looking map, so go ahead and give it a download - you'll enjoy it.

Team Fortress 2: CP Titan (RC1)
Ultimately decommissioned in 2006, the Titan family of rockets were considered too expensive and too finicky compared to alternative rocketry technology to be used in mainstream space exploration. Fortune favors a thrifty shopper however, and as the Titan I was phased out for its successor, RED and BLU both scrambled to snatch up the memoirs of the past decade of expendable rocketry. Seeing an exploitable opening, both groups feverishly worked on retrofitting the technology into their own plans of world domination, and though the aforementioned fortune can be kind, it can also maintain a sense of irony - for now both RED and BLU have each other in the crosshairs, rockets pointed squarely at each other.

With three control points per side, controlling the forward base that oversees the transportation of rocketry parts is only the first step. You'll need to then capture their storage shack which houses technological marvels from decades past, as well as their fuel reserves. Finally, you're ready to strike at your final goal - the control point directly behind the rocket in their control room terminus. Sabotaging their rocket will assure victory for your side, as well as assuring their carefully laid plans (as well as their base) goes up in an explosion of steel and fire!

Team Fortress 2: KotH Duel (Beta 1.2)
A calm and lonely cavern where 2 (or 4) can duel it out.

Whilst I plan on releasing different variables later, on this map;

* Players must provide their own healing (Black Box, Mad Milk, Medic, etc.)
* Ammo/Metal can only be found from dead players weapon drops.
* You can switch classes either when you die, or suicide.
* Players are vunerable to attack at all times, as there are no safe spots.
* All weapons are useable, but the layout will hamper Sentries, Heavys and Demomen.
* Map if fully compatable with the Duel MiniGame item available at the Mann store.

Team Fortress 2: PL Canyon (Beat 8a)
PL Canyon is a large four-point payload map, of course, set in a large winding canyon, where Blu is invading and plotting to destroy a major Red base. The objective is for the Blue Team to deliver the Payload from the newly constructed Blue base to the center of the enemy Red Base, in order to disable the Red Team's large Multi-stage Rocket.

The payload starts at Blue Base, which sits at the very edge of the Canyon on a clifftop. The payload works its way downhill and winds through Red and Blue owned buildings to the first Point A, "The Payload Suppository." It then winds up into a small tunnel, which has many crossing paths above and in the tunnel. The tunnel then opens up onto a large L-Shaped bridge and Point B, "The Loading Dock," all above a very large pit. Afterwards, the payload makes its way down and off the bridge and through Red's large base to Point C, "The Platform Complex." After going through the long final stretch, which has many overpasses, the payload turns into the final Point D, "Mission Control," the location of Red's large Multi-stage Rocket. The payload drops down into the point, the point explodes, and the rocket is disabled.

Team Fortress 2: PL Redship
RedShip is a two part map that consists of Stage 1: The Assault during which the BLU team assaults RedShip in order to take possession of it, and Stage 2: The Retake, where the RED team tries to take back their ship.

RedShip is different from a regular payload map from its objectives that must be destroyed/defended. You have to push a cart like in any other payload map, but RedShip randomly choses 1 from 3 different types of payload. (see below) There's also 3 different possible atmospheres for the map: a sunny day up above the clouds, low-gravity space or sunset time above the lake on an unknown planet. They can play to your advantage depending on the class you play. Sometimes you'll also have environmental objects to destroy that block your way or to unlock a path to help your team.
