This News Item has been viewed 29,141 times

Welcome to all for the second version of the Filefront Network Update - News Section. This replaces the old unpopular insider and now comes as two parts which aren't as long as the former insider. Hopefully this will look better, than the previous version. The news part of the Weekly update includes the latest news that has been posted on the Network Sites over the past week as well as some of the latest news from the Filefront Main Site, although in this case there is news from the past two weeks. There has been a fair bit of news from both the network sites and the main filefront site including reviews from both of the New James Bond games (Bloodstone and Goldeneye) as well as an official release date for Gran Turismo 5 and a lot more!

Lots more news can be found from Filefront News - Here

Just like the former Insider we would still like your suggestions Remember; if you see something that you would like to be added to the Weekly Network Update, or you have any suggestions that you think may improve the Network Update then simply drop me an email at Danny[at]alienworlds[dot]net (please put "Network Update" as the subject though smile ). If you like the Network Update please feel free write a comment as I would love to hear any critism, support or even death threats stick out tongue (constructive though please as this is the only way that I know how good or bad the insider is and it would help me to improve this further). That is of course if anyone actually reads this!

Filefront Gaming Today News: 10 Games That Should Not Be Adapted Into Movies

As game worlds come to look more and more like reality, it’s become very common for random assholes to want their favorite titles to be adapted into movies. This is pretty dumb, because there are a lot of things that would have to fall into place in order for any game movie to turn out to be good, and it’s rare that [game you like] would have a chance at said things falling into place. Also, many games just should stay in an interactive medium. And many games just aren’t movie material. Here are ten games that absolutely should not ever be adapted into motion pictures.

NOTE: In theory, a good filmmaking team can make a good picture out of any source material, but good filmmaking teams generally don’t make video game movies, and even when they do (see: Prince of Persia), it doesn’t always work out. Actually, it has never worked out.

1. Mass Effect
2. Any Grand Theft Auto game
3. BioShock
4. World of Warcraft
5. Shadow of the Colossus
6. Any Call of Duty game
7. The Legend of Zelda
8. Super Mario Bros. (oh wait...)
9. Bayonetta
10.Metal Gear Solid

Filefront Gaming Today News: 1187 (Half-Life 2 Mod) Deserves A Snoop/Dre Theme Song

1187 is a new Half-life 2 mod that doesn’t really reinvent the wheel but doesn’t suck either. The official description – “Creatures came out of what seemed to be thin air. Animated and alive. They came without a warning and swept the world …” might be the most succinct summation of all time, and the premise is nothing short of baffling. It’s set in the Half-Life universe. But for some reason, it appears to be about your ex roommate.

In 1187, it’s been ten years since the Black mesa incident. For reasons that aren’t made clear, even though the world has been overrun with hellmouth daemons, people still live in Apartments, and you’ve woken up in yours. You’ve been approached in a dream by a man you don’t know. Also, tons of nightmare fuel monsters keep trying to kill you. And that’s about the most sense I was able to make out of it. Fortunately, it’s pretty fun, and whatever your take, you have to at least admit this looks really cool.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Black Ops is the Biggest Entertainment Launch Ever (probably)

Call of Duty: Black Ops earned $360 million in real money on day one in North America and the United Kingdom. That tops Modern Warfare 2′s opening day total of $310 million in those territories, and it seems reasonable to think that it will eclipse MW2′s $400 million worldwide day-one earnings once the full numbers are released down the line. By the way, that $360 million represents 5.6 million copies of the game, which is a lot of copies. Also, $360 million is more than Halo: Reach made in its first 17 days. Watch your back, FIFA 11; Black Ops is hot on your tail.

Isn’t amazing to think that Sam Worthington is in the biggest movie ever and what might end up being the biggest game ever? How f**ked would that be, particularly considering he’s terrible in both of them? (Hint to the world of entertainment: nobody is ever going to be excited about your thing because Sam Worthington is in it. Also, he couldn’t do an American accent to save all of existence, so stop making him play American.)

Filefront Gaming Today News: Dance Central Review

If there was one standout game announced at E3 for the Kinect, Harmonix’s Dance Central was that game. Dance Central featured a snazzy presentation and some Lady Gaga. How much more theatrical could a game get? It also teased that anyone could learn how to bust up the dance floor.

You probably noticed that the first Kinect launch titles featured the usual family mini-games, sports games and fitness software leaving Dance Central the clear leader. The pedigree of its developer and the new technology of the Kinect should set you up for high expectations.

Fortunately, in most ways this is a very successful technology demonstration of Kinect’s potential. The game features a variety of popular dance and pop songs with specially choreographed routines. It also does an excellent job of introducing wall flowers to some actually usable dance floor acrobatics, shimmies and sways.

Filefront Gaming Today News: European LittleBigPlanet 2 Collector’s Edition Far Inferior to North American Collector’s Edition

Man, the LittleBig Planet 2 Limited Collector’s Edition is pretty killer. You get a big honkin’ sackboy plush and some sweet-looking bookends for your game collection along with 13 DLC costumes. That picture above? That’s what it looks like.

If you live in Europe, though, you also get a Limited Collector’s Edition, but it’s not that. It’s this: Yep, no plush and no bookends; just a steel case and seven DLC costumes. I’m not joking. I’m very sorry I had to be the bearer of bad news. So, so sorry. Maybe you should move?

LittleBigPlanet 2 is out in January exclusively on the PS3.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Gamebryo Engine For Sale — Like, You Could Own It

So this company called Emergent has a game engine called Gamebryo. You know this engine as the reason Oblivion and the two most recent Fallout games look awkward and generally ugly (it’s gotta have the worst third-person character animation ever). Also, for some reason, Epic Mickey makes use of it. Anyway, when very few money-making games use your engine, you’re bound to run into cash trouble, which Emergent has. Now they’re putting the Gamebryo engine up for auction.

This is kind of amazing. And amusing. You, yes you, could buy the engine that powers one of the biggest games of the year.

Filefront Gaming Today News: GoldenEye 007 Review

GoldenEye is one of the most beloved games in history. Originally appearing on the Nintendo 64, the James Bond shooter was one of biggest successes in the pre-Call of Duty era of console shooters. Now it’s back, as Activision is rebooting the game on the Nintendo Wii.

The first thing you should know going in is that this is not simply a re-release of the classic game for the Wii. Eurocom has removed Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond from the game, and replaced him with the current Bond, Daniel Craig. Craig might be my favorite Bond to date, as he comes the closest to the cold, brutal spy that Ian Fleming created.

This change has led to many characters in the game being recast, some being removed, and some game moments have been reworked to fit into Craig’s style. Don’t worry, these changes are not bad.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Gran Turismo 5 Release Date Now Official

Is there any game (besides Duke Nukem Forever) that has a more turbulent development path than Gran Turismo 5? First, the game was delayed, then we learned that discs were being pressed, and now we finally have a release date.

Sony has confirmed that Polyphony Digital’s long-awaited racer will hit stores November 24 in North America. In a press release, Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital said,

Gran Turismo 5 is an ambitious project, with challenges and complexities which have made it our version of the Apollo Space Program! When we created the original Gran Turismo back in 1997, we wanted to set a completely new precedent for the racing genre. With the technological leap onto PlayStation 3, our objective with Gran Turismo 5 was to create another great revolution which would not only satisfy our own high expectations, but would meet or even exceed the anticipation of the fans. Satisfying the loyal Gran Turismo followers is at the heart of all of our efforts, which is why it was such a difficult decision to delay the release of the game, and one which we did not take lightly. I can only apologize to everyone for making you wait so long, and I hope that when you try out the wealth of driving experiences available in Gran Turismo 5, you will not be disappointed.

Filefront Gaming Today News: How to Fix Wii Disk Read Errors

Nintendo’s Wii game console may not have the repair problems that Microsoft’s Xbox 360 or Sony’s PS3 have, but over time the Wii will begin to experience disk read errors due to a basic design issue. If your Wii is failing to read disks, this how to offers a few possible solutions as well as step by step instructions for fixing Wii disk read errors.

Difficulty: Basic to Intermediate
Tools:

* A microfiber cleaning cloth
* A Tri-wing screwdriver Size 3 (don’t try and use a flathead) – This NEEDS to have a long shaft. There is a part of the Wii with recessed screws.
* A mini Phillips screwdriver
* A small plate or container ( to hold the screws in )
* A couple pieces of tape to keep track of what screws belong to part of the Wii
* Some water (not a cleaning solution)

Filefront Gaming Today News: LA Noire Kicks Your Ass in Spring 2011 (TRAILER)

LA Noire is one of those games, man, that you don’t think will ever actually happen. It’s been in development for more than half a decade, and it’s Team Bondi’s first game, so it’s kind of amazing that a studio founded last generation would still be, in 2010, working on its first game. But that’s how it’s gone, and it looks like everything is finally falling into place for a spring 2011 release on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Also, we have a trailer. And it features Mad Man Ken Cosgrove (actor Aaron Staton), who I identified because I recognized his face, which probably means something good for the game. Oh, and Rockstar would like you to know something: “This trailer was made entirely from in-game footage.”

Filefront Gaming Today News: Madden Heading to 3DS at Launch

If you ever doubted the power of the 3DS, you need only take a look at that image there to have a real hand-in-side moment; that looks awesome. Oh, and, by the way, Madden NFL Football (no year) is set to be a launch title for the 3DS when it launches in March-ish. Yeah, that’s not really football season, unless you’re into Arena ball, but what the hell, right? Might as well. God, that looks good.

Here are the specifics of the 3DS version of Madden, as provided by the EA press release because they can say it better than I could:

Madden NFL Football will offer a comprehensive handheld experience with exciting modes, such as authentic 11-on-11 football, fast-paced 5-on-5 action and Season Mode. Additional features jump off the screen with 3D graphics, such as “Spotlight Moments” and “Call Your Shots”. Utilizing the remarkable power of the Nintendo 3DS Touch Screen, “Call Your Shots” allows users to draw their own plays, on-the-fly, directly on the screen.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Moron Movie Blogger Says De Niro, Pesci and Wahlberg May Be In Uncharted Movie

Notorious dumbass movie blogger Roger Friedman has “sources” who say Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci and Mark Wahlberg might just be in David O. Russell’s Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune movie, which he says “will have something to do with antiquities dealers in New York.” He also says nobody knows the plot of the movie yet because “word is the actual video game didn’t have much there aside from a concept and a name.”

Roger Friedman is the moron, I must point out, who was fired from Fox News after he watched a pirated copy of Wolverine online and then reviewed it on foxnews.com. But he has been doing this kind of thing for a while, so it could be that Pesci and DeNiro and Wahlberg are on board. But since he is a moron, I wouldn’t be too worried about his f**king stupid logline there unless we also hear that from other sources, because its entirely possible the “source” in question said the words “New York” and “antiquities dealers” and “in” all during a single long conversation and Friedman just connected the dots. Because he’s really dumb.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Garners 2 Million Downloads

Electronic Arts has announced that Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is “the fastest downloaded Need for Speed demo in history.” Their basis for this claim? They also mentioned that the demo has been downloaded by over two million people in the two weeks it’s been available.

In addition to that eye-popping number, EA also tossed out a few more stats, like:

* Over 700,000 posts have been made on the Speedwall
* Over 5 million recommendations from friends on Autolog
* 54 million road miles have been raced
* 20 million cop busts have been made

You can get in on all the fun yourself next week when the game releases on PC, PS3, XBox 360 and Wii.

Filefront Gaming Today News: New Super Meat Boy Levels Forthcoming

Very soon, Super Meat Boy will be getting an Xbox Live title update, and Team Meat says they should be sending it off to Microsoft this week. And when it does go live (they “hope” it will by the 21st of this month), it’ll fix all the bugs and add a new song to the soundtrack. And it’ll come with 20 new levels. No s**t.

This new group of what they call “internet levels” is called the Sewers of Dross. They say: “In the sewers of dross you will be using only Gish and his sticky abilities to traverse 20 levels that ramp in difficulty from medium to soul crushing.”

Filefront Gaming Today News: NHL GameCenter Now Available on PS3

First, the PS3 got MLB.tv. Then the Xbox 360 got ESPN3. And now Sony has struck another blow in the war to be the console with the best sports content with the introduction of NHL GameCenter on PS3, which, when combined with an NHL GameCenter LIVE subscription, will allow you to stream live out-of-market hockey straight through your PS3 to your viewing rectangle of choice. Like MLB.tv and ESPN3, NHL GameCenter was previously limited to streaming to your computer, but no more.

Oh, but nothing about this is free, of course. The GameCenter app, which you can find in the Playstation Store, is only free if you have a Plus sub, and it’s $9.99 for everyone else. And then the LIVE sub is $169 a year, which isn’t really that bad if you like hockey. Go here to subscribe.

I can’t say I’m much of a hockey fan, but I love that stuff like this is there for me if I want it. You’d better believe I used MLB.tv on PS3 to watch the Braves in LA, and I use ESPN3 every Saturday to watch the Big East Game of the Week! Now, if we could get NBA League Pass and NFL Sunday Ticket streaming through some consoles, everything would be as it should be in the world (but DirecTV would be pissed about Sunday Ticket, so that won’t happen).

Filefront Gaming Today News: Report: APB Rights Bought by F2P Company

We’d been hearing about potential buyers for the rights to APB ever since Realtime Worlds went under and then shut it down back in September, and if GI.biz sources are to be believed, a buy has been found. It’s not Epic, though. GI says the buyer is K2 Network, which is a company known for bringing Asian online games to the West via their free-to-play GamersFirst platform. I don’t really have much to say about this since I don’t know anything about K2, but I would guess that it’s safe to assume that APB, whenever K2 brings it back online, will be free-to-play. And that’s all I’ve got, at least until K2 confirms or doesn’t confirm this.

Filefront Gaming Today News: Silent Hill: Revelation 3D Director Talks Silent Hill: Revelation 3D

It’s been not a very large amount of time since Silent Hill: Revelation 3D was announced as being in prod., and the film’s writer/director, Michael J Bassett, is already out and talkin’ it up. Well, he’s talkin’ it up to Empire, at least, who published an exclusive interview with the guy. Here are some quotes:

It’s early days, and I’m keeping details of the plot secret for now, but it’s going to be a sequel to the first film whilst trying to remain true to the plot of game 3, and will also work as a stand-alone movie for people who don’t know the series.

I spent a long time revisiting the games and reading just about every little piece of material I could find on the mythology. Of course, my choices may not please everyone, but the ambition is to give the audience a twisted, intense and terrifying experience, following a really interesting story, anchored by a terrific cast giving great performances. It’s more than you get from most horror movies these days, I know, but I figure why not aim high and try to bring a bit of quality back to a genre that’s rarely treated with respect?

Filefront Gaming Today News: THQ Says Games Need a Lower Price Point

Are you tired of paying $59.99 for your favorite new console games? If so, you may want to keep an eye on what THQ is planning.

According to company president Brian Farrell,

What we’re thinking about the business is we’re turning it on its head a little bit. It’s not, ‘how high a price can we get’, but ‘how many users’. If you can capture everyone under that economic curve, that’s where you can make the most money.

As his example, he mentions that sales of MX vs. ATV really took off once the price point was dropped to $39.99. What did the company take away from that information? Farrell says,

So the thinking this time is, let’s initially launch at $39.99 — it’s a very robust game, very high quality, so this is not about trying to get a secondary title out. It’s an AAA title, at that price point, but then with a series of DLC so people can extend their experience. We think this is the future of gaming. We think that’s the way games are gonna go in the long term.

Filefront Gaming Today News: This Black Ops Kill Is the Luckiest Thing Ever (VIDEO)

A couple years ago, I was driving down a five-lane road and pulled an absurd left turn at speed from the far right lane. Naturally, a cop saw me and pulled me over. Oh, crappo, I thought, because I hadn’t paid my insurance and it had run out a couple weeks previous. So the lady cop walks over to my car and lectures me about making ridiculous turns like that, and I show her my expired insurance card, and she called me out on it. I told her I had insurance but I just forgot to start carrying my new card. I managed to get out of this situation because I just so happened to share my birthday with this lady police officer. I am not kidding.

Another time, I went to the kiosk at the movie theater to buy my ticket so I could avoid the line at the box office. I swiped my rewards card and my credit card, and the machine spit out eight free movie passes that I could use on whatever movie I wanted.

Filefront Gaming Today News: ZeniMax Buys Studio Created by Starbreeze Founders

Last year, a bunch of folks at Starbreeze quit and founded a new studio, MachineGames. Today, ZeniMax announced that they bought the fledgling studio and now has them working on a new AAA game on id Tech 5 (which you’ll also see in action on Rage and Doom 4). This is big for MachineGames because ZeniMax has a bunch of money they can throw at them (Zeni also owns id and Bethesda), and it’s big for ZeniMax because it means they’re one step closer to being considered “one of the big boy publishers.” And it’s good for us because those Starbreeze guys made some great games (talking about Escape from Butcher Bay and The Darkness). And I like that they’ll keep making major releases, because the shooter/RPG meld, which they like so much, is always something we could use more of.

In the previous update we talked about some of the future plans for the mod, and some of the changes we intend to make. However, we did not address some of the other criticisms we've seen when we read discussions about the mod. This update is more or less dedicated to addressing those, because we do read everything we find, and we do consider it. This should give a better idea of the direction we want to take the project in in the near future, whether it's all addressed in patch 1.1, or more. We've already addressed the AI and SSD, so those won't be mentioned here.

http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/8/7376/Furion.jpg

The first two things really aren't criticisms, just technical issues that we apparently didn't address properly.

1. Every text entry is [MISSING]. Why?
The mod is meant to be used on an English install, because we all speak English. If you speak another language, go into the mod's Data folder, then the Text folder, and change Mastertextfile_English.dat into whatever language your game is. The text will be in English, but it will at least be there. If you are fluent in both English and another language, and would like to translate the mod, please contact us by Pm or email at . That is one thing we certainly can't do ourselves.

2. I have the game on Steam, and am having trouble installing it. Can you help me?
We can. http://gutr.swrebellion.com/forums/index.php/topic,1663.0.html

http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/8/7376/Syca.jpg
http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/8/7376/Scarsiss.jpg

Now, for actual complaints people brought up. These are drawn from public posts in both the English and German communities, on our MDB profile, forums, EaW Files news and download pages, and a thread about us on Steiner Modding Group's forums. If you have a different issue, and it isn't addressed here, please bring it up on our forums and we will address it.

Far Cry 2: Super Jump Map Pack Delayed
FarCry Files has received a message regarding the Super Jump Map Pack that was planned by Hydragod and Firephoenix. Unfortunately, it's a message about a delay. But it shows you that the developers are still alive and kicking and do care about you knowing what's going on.

Anyway, here's what they have to say:

Quote:
Dear Far Cry Fan,

We sorry to tell you this but the Super Jump Map Pack developed by Hydragod & Firephoenix is delayed to two or three more weeks.

We have found some bugs in the SJ maps which need to be fixed. That's why the map pack has been delayed. We want to deliver a bug-free map pack which is always hard! We hope you can wait a little longer than expected, but believe me, it is worth it!

Kind regards,
Free Ware Developers Team

Half-Life 2: Nigthtmare House 2 wins an award
During the GameIS 2010 event last night we won two awards for We Create Stuff’s latest releases. I had my camera with me so I took a shot of the cool statues they made:

About GameIs: “GameIS is a non profit voluntary organisation that help Israeli companies and individuals to connect and create business in the video games market. We cover technology , services and game production over mobile, web, pc and consoles” – So thank you guys so much. It was a fun, informative and a communicative event.

If you liked Nightmare House 2, you’ll be happy to know Hen will post something related to it soon.

Halo: Combat Evolved: It begins...
Let's get one thing out of the way. I am running this website all by my lonesome for the moment, so when I go through comments and see one I don't like, I investigate. In this case it worked out for the better, thanks to a commenter who goes by the username ASO9S.

If it weren't for his comment for a file that was validated poorly way before my time as "head cheese", then I wouldn't have got the incentive to do what I am going to be doing. I am updating old reviews that are embarresing for old files that I happen to find. This is a huge task.

I have already updated the entry for the file that ASO9S's comment was attached to, with a new review and a new screenshot to show the main context of said file. The name has been changed from it's old site entry of "Death island map" to what I have called it in the new description for the reason stated in the edited review.

http://halo2.filefront.com/file/Covie_War;24279

So, if you happen to stumble across a file that you think needs updating, put a link in the comments below and I will check it out. smile Also, a quick reminder, we have no pictures left for POTDs. So get to submitting them. Thanks.

Jedi Knight III: The JKFiles Hilt Modelling Contest starts this weekend!
Well everyone, its finally time! Time for what I hear you ask? Time for our JKFiles Hilt Modelling Contest! Yes I know it has been a long time since I said we would have one, and for that I have to apologise, I really wanted to have had it much sooner, but at least now you can all breathe a sigh of relief! stick out tongue

We will be having a Sith theme for our Hilt Modelling Contest, as was voted for by you!

The contest will start this weekend when I will also be posting the rules and guidelines for the contest. I think that two weeks should be enough time for the contest to take place and I was planning to have the three skill levels (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced) again. Please feel free to post in the comments if you feel two weeks is enough or if you would rather we scrap skill levels or anything else you would like to suggest so I have enough time to adjust the rules should there be anything in particular that the majority of people want.

Lord of the Rings Online: Dev Diary - Crafting Changes
A new developer diary and new update for you LotrO players, there is going to be some crafting changes for all players to consider.

One of the updates that I'm looking forward to is the new crafting panel which is shown in the developer update:

Quote:
Improvements

The size of the panel has been greatly increased, allowing for a larger recipe list on the left and a complete recipe information panel on the right.

The Proficiency and Mastery pages have been combined. We now display all important details for the selected recipe in one location.

The Select Output option (formerly the Multi-output button) now displays your current choice and allows you to navigate both forward and backward through all available choices.

New Additions

Searching for a particular recipe? The “Get Recipes” button opens the LOTRO Store to the Crafting Recipes section, listing all available recipes for the currently-selected crafting profession.

Want to earn more crafting experience? The “Increase Craft XP” button opens the LOTRO Store to the Enhancements/Boosts section, where you will find Scrolls of Craft Acceleration that increase the amount of craft XP earned for many recipes (more on Craft Acceleration Scrolls below).

Looking for ingredients? The “Get Ingredients” button opens the LOTRO Store to the Crafting Ingredients section, where you will find Ingredient Packs that can be used in place of normal craft materials for the currently-selected recipe (more on Ingredient Packs below).

Soldier of Fortune 2: SOF Online
Reports have been coming in about a new Soldier of Fortune game. Activision and a developer called DragonFLy have got together to create SoF Online. This is MMO with the SoF name and is currentl running in beta in Korea. We have no other news about this and with so many MMO's coming out in Korea only we do not know if this will go world wide. We will be contacting Activision as soon as possible to get some more details for you over the coming weeks. In the mean time here are a few trailers and ingame footage for you have a look at and tell us what you think.

Having looked at these a few times I think the graphics are slightly cartoony to be taken to seriously. They seem to be trying to create a TF2 style with a game that in no way can lend itself to that feel.
It would be great to hear from some one in Korea that has actually played the Beta and can shed some more light on te actual gameplay and feel.

Stalker: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. TV Details!
The guys over at Rock, Paper, Shotgun have posted up an interview with GSC’s Oleg Yavorsky about the upcoming TV series.

Check out the full interview after the break.

Quote:
RPS: How did the TV show come about? Isn’t it a bit far from usual game developing business?

Yavorsky: With the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl in 2007 we concomitantly launched a series of the game-world-inspired novels (published in Russian and German). So far, the number of books in the series has exceeded 45 (S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has been #1 sci-fi book series in Russia for the last two and a half years) with the aggregate sales number topping 5 million copies! The overall game sales worldwide are steadily approaching the same 5 million units mark. This said, the world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. remains to be so multifaceted and deep that we could hardly think of any better way to reveal its essence than a TV series. Of course making movies is different from making games, but we work with professionals, and then it’s a very involving process to learn.

RPS: How directly are GSC involved in the development of the show?

Yavorsky: We keep our full control of the happenings. We take part in the story-writing, we pick the director’s group and decide on the cast, we control the shooting process, the post-production etc.

Actually I personally think Mass Effect would make the best sci-fi movie ever, even better than the (original) Star Wars films...

... And I'm glad the rights for FPB got sold, that game deserves it.

Oh, and GameBryo is *****. It might serve the purpose - large worlds with complex scripts, but it's completely bugged, it's ugly as hell, the animations are awful (including facial animations), it's extremely unstable, and the performance it gives compared to the graphics, AI and physics (all lame by the way) is terrible. They'd be better off burning the hard drives with the GameBryo source code and making a DirectX 11 engine that's more stable, has better AI, graphics, physics, sound, and that isn't so bugged.
