Knights of the Nine is released today!!

For those of you who dont know what it is, read this

The Gods have forsaken Tamriel.

A fallen King has been unchained from the darkness of Oblivion to seek vengeance upon the Gods who banished him. New dungeons, characters, quests, and mysteries await.

Features:

Begin a New Faction - The Knights of the Nine have long been disbanded. Reclaim their former glory as you traverse the far reaches of Cyrodill across an epic quest line.


Battle New Foes - Encounter Umaril, the ancient Ayleid Sorcerer-King, and his minions, the fearsome Aurorans.


Discover Unique Items - An entirely new armor set and weapons, each with unique powers, are within your grasp…if you are worthy.

On His Battle with Umaril and His Dismemberment

Editor's Note: This fragment comes from a manuscript recovered from the ruins of the Alessian Order's monastery at Lake Canulus, which dates it to sometime prior to the War of Righteousness (1E 2321). However, textual analysis suggests that this fragment actually preserves a very early form of the Song, perhaps from the mid-sixth century.

[And so after many battles with] Umaril's allies, where dead Aurorans lay like candlelight around the throne, the Pelinal became surrounded by the last Ayleid sorcerer-kings and their demons, each one heavy with varliance. The Whitestrake cracked the floor with his mace and they withdrew, and he said, "Bring me Umaril that called me out!" ... [And] while mighty in his aspect and wicked, deathless-golden Umaril favored ruin-from-afar over close combat and so he tarried in the shadows of the white tower before coming forth. More soldiers were sent against Pelinal to die, and yet they managed to pierce his armor with axes and arrows, for Umaril had wrought each one by long varliance, which he had been hoarding since his first issue [of challenge.]... [Presently] the half-Elf [showed himself] bathed in [Meridian light] ... and he listed his bloodline in the Ayleidoon and spoke of his father, a god of the [previous kalpa's] World-River and taking great delight in the heavy-breathing of Pelinal who had finally bled...

[And] Umaril was laid low, the angel face of his helm dented into an ugliness which made Pelinal laugh, [and his] unfeathered wings broken off with sword strokes delivered while Pelinal stood [frothing]... above him insulting his ancestry and anyone else that took ship from Old Ehlnofey, [which] angered the other Elvish kings and drove them to a madness of their own... [and they] fell on him [speaking] to their weapons... cutting the Pelinal into eighths while he roared in confusion [which even] the Council of Skiffs [could hear]...

...ran when Mor shook the whole of the tower with mighty bashing from his horns [the next morning], and some were slain-in-overabundance in the Taking, and Men looked for more Ayleids to kill but Pelinal had left none save those kings and demons that had already begun to flee... It was Morihaus who found the Whitestrake's head, which the kings had left to prove their deeds and they spoke and Pelinal said things of regrets... but the rebellion had turned anyway... [and more] words were said between these immortals that even the Paravant would not deign to hear.

question: is this a totaly new game of oblivion? or does it add on to the land of the other oblivion?

A simple addon like the others, just a bit bigger from the mehrunes razor...
The retail version was out before a week or more and i finished it before a couple of days...
Nice quests with some small unexpected puzzles inside...
As for its price... no comments"

Overall I liked it 7/10 from me.

Best thing imo is the fact that the armor u gain in this expansion will level with u when u place it on the pedestal. Worst things are, there is no new land mass like with Morrowind expansions and it's way too short to even be called an expansion.

Also, it is bugged to hell. Part of the quest is broken for some ppl (an essential npc does not offer the correct dialogue options, only "rumors"wink It seems it is affected by what addons you have already. If you find this is the case, get OBM (Oblivion Mod Manager) and move Knights Of The Nine into the last position of the loading order.

Unlucky Guys....so many PC players seem to have many problems with bugs/glitches etc but when I check them against the 360 version 9/10 of these things aint there. Is it because of the high PC specks that many don't have (including me Cry )?

also I'd give this 9/10 the story was great, the new stuff great and some of the new things/effects/scripted events were cool - especially the bit where you have to put all the items in chest following lights stick out tongue. But yeah I'd love some new, official, land to try out too

knight of the nine doesnt feel like an expansion the the quests are more fun than the original storyline
*minor spoiler* can somebody help me i cant get that mace i cant solve the puzzle

Ehm... sorry, but Knights of the Nine was released about a week ago, but it's downloadable now (4-12-06) So it was released before in shops for the PC users.

Yeah, I've had it for over a week and am already done with the quest, it was good. To #7, get all the other items first, wear them as soon as you get them, then go after the mace, you'll see why.

Only came out on the Bethesda site on the 4th, so I'm guessing most people will have got it off that. It costs 40$ in the shops here. Too much

It has a higher price in the shops but if you buy it there you'll also get all the other mods released by bethesda... by the way, aberneth, why does it sucks? We can't think much of 'it sucks'...

It is not an expansion, it is an add on for those people that wanted the a new faction involving the church. I know that most people used their old powerful characters while playing the new quest and it takes less than fout to five hours to beat. I am hoping for a real expansion, not some new faction.

i'd like them to open up valenwood and elswyr. Cyrodiil seems small compared to vvardenfell. i'd like to see a new official race that is especially good with marksman

It adds a fort, a cave and an aliyed ruin, among other things, as I recall, about 8 or 9 actual seperate quests in the quest line. It starts in Anvil, hellknight.

If you want to start the NOTN questline then I suggest you travel to the Church in Anvil.

I have a xbox 360 and i downloaded knights of the nine but it is not working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I talked to the phropet and he gave me a map of a bunch of alters i have to go vist and pray at. The map shows that the alter by anvil is called arkay and the one by skingrad is called mara. But when i go to the anvil alter it says it is the mara one and when i go to the one by skingrad it says it is mara to. So i have two mara shrines but no arkay shrine!!!!!!!! What am i supposed to do. I have downloaded all of the content for oblivion and this is the only one that has messed up sofar. I need your help people, Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dudes if u cant win this quest in an hour u arent really gd well anyways if you have problwems just speak to da ghosts or press the °° button and type tcl you can shearch better that way........provided by SHERMHEAD

i got the same problem death4444, only my Kot9 came with shivering isles, so im not willing to uninstall/reinstall the content. does ne1 know how to fix this problem?
