Hello Martigen, thanks for joining us!

Hey, thanks inviting me and bringing the beer.

My pleasure. So, can you tell us about Martigen's Monster Mod (MMM)?

It's a dedicated creature and NPC mod with over 120+ new creatures and NPCs and some 1500 variants. Each creature and NPC is passionately created with a unique design, purpose, back story, behavioural AI, loot, stats, abilities and more. And it comes in versions for Vanilla Oblivion, Francescos, and OOO. It's a gigantic labour of love.

Interesting, what gave you the idea to make a mod such as this?

At the time there were a number of creature mods such as Creature Continuum and Oblivion Reloaded, but each focused on different things and nothing had everything I wanted. So I started on MMM to create the ultimate creature and NPC mod and it grew from there. Pretty soon I found myself making entirely new and interesting creature types and adding new and varied features and it's just been getting bigger and better with each release.

I sometimes help out with other mods and I've done work for Alive Waters, some of the UL mods, FranOOOMMM, Oscuros Oblivion Overhaul and a few others.

Is it hard making a mod of this type?

Oh yeah. It's extremely time consuming to create new and interesting creatures, esepcially with unique design and behaviour; to design and implement innovative new features (like the Diverse Creature Skins and Looting NPCs & Creatures plugins); and to then make versions for the various Francescos and OOO modules and to have these all work together with the range of optional plugins MMM provides. It generally takes two days just to package a final build for the mod and get it uploaded to the various sites once a build is complete.

How did you get into modding?

I actually used to mod for Morrowind, and long before that I used to make maps for Doom and Quake. I was also very active in the Natural Selection community, where some of my gameplay ideas were added to the mod and changed part of the core dynamic which stays to this day. I was lead Playtester for the team for a short while, basically a group of glorified bug hunters big grin

Can you give any pointers to others who would like to get into modding?

Make what you want to make, not what other people want you to make. Finish what you start. Choose something that you're passionate about, as this will carry you though to finishing it. Get help from fellow modders. Have patience. And treat people the way you would like to be treated.

i have never dl MMM but know im coming on to your work. like you said "Finish what you start". Um i would but i dont know how to place them here at this site whare is the thread thing to post your mod?
